POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Who is Money Madu? I’ve been writing my autobiography and I’ve realized I’ve done a lot in a short amount of time. 20 slides really isn’t enough but let’s go through the timeline shall we?

1) first time I can remember receiving a check was in 4th grade. We had an Accelerated Reader program and I garnered 100 points which lead $15 in my pockets! (1999)

2) In college, I did a co-op at the Toyota Manufacturing Plant (where they make the trucks) as a plastics engineer. During this time I overheard co-workers talking about stocks. I saved $3,000 and opened up a brokerage account with Vanguard and bought some stocks (2010)

3) I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with an Electrical Engineering degree (2013)

4) My first job out of college was at United States Gypsum (USG) as a project engineer. (2013)

5) I purchased my first home out in Sweetwater for $58,500. Later rented it out when I had to move and learned about cashflow. (2014)

6) Got a new job with Marathon Petroleum. (2015)

7) Purchased my 2nd home in League City, TX (2015)

8) Started an investment club, where members would pool our money together monthly between $50 - $100 and buy shares of stock in the stock market. Created a group of new investors as most members never invested before. Overall we had over 50 members and the value was at six figures. Closed the group down during Covid at a 46% return on investment. (2017)

9) Got my MBA from Pepperdine University - Graziadio School of Business (2017)

10) Wrote my first book on personal finance called “10 reasons why you are living Centsless” yes you can get it off of Amazon :) (2017)

11) Purchased my first house to rehab. Utilized the BRRR method where you Buy, Rehab, Refinance, Rent and Repeat.(2018)

12) @phenyx was created (2018)

13) I pooled money together to buy a section 8 house in Memphis, sight unseen. Made the group 12% on their money. (2019)

14) Hosted a Wealth Building Conference called the Blackseed Summit at the tail end of Covid. (2020)

15) @phenyx sees 6 figures (2021)

16) Became a Mortgage Loan Originator (2021)

17) Partnered on an event space near Toyota center (2022)

18) Partnered on Cocktail Lounge (2023) taken in Houston, Texas by @moneymadu

Meta dropped a free AI assistant that can help you move like you have support before you can actually hire support.

Not a paid sponsorship (I’m always here though @meta @zuck @mosseri ) just sharing a tool I found useful.

Comment META and I’ll send you the link to get 1 billion extra tokens.

Share with someone that can use this!

Most people are trying to find the perfect house.

But sometimes the better play is finding the house that needs work in the area everybody already wants.

That’s where renovation loans can help.

With options like FHA 203K or HomeStyle, you may be able to buy the home and finance the repairs into the loan — instead of waiting until you have a huge renovation budget sitting around.

That’s how you turn an overlooked house into something with equity.

If you’re in Texas or Florida and want to use this loan strategy, comment LOAN and I’ll send you more info.

Save this before you start house shopping.
Share it with someone trying to buy smart.

You know me, I’m documenting the entire journey from the early stages to the finished home, so people who look like us can see that this is possible too.

We’re grateful for this opportunity and accepting all well wishes as we step into this new chapter.

Send this to a friend who needs to see what’s possible, and follow @moneymadu and @ken.gilliard for the journey.

Movement has always been more than what happens during the workout or run.

It’s where we meet new people, challenge what we thought we could do, create new ideas, and find a little more curiosity along the way.

This fall, I’ll be headed to Vancouver with 100 lululemon ambassadors for a week.

I’m ready to step away from the everyday and lean into the undiscovered.
