Luke Brown is studying his BFA at @nas_au and has a background in the film industry as a mould maker. In our latest exhibition Luke showcased 3 works depicting landscapes from where we spent most of his childhood.

“I’m interested what happens when a landscape that is usually associated with bright Australian light is stripped back to darkness. The trees become silhouettes, bodies, or openings into something I can’t quite identify.”

The magical Abby Mae, aka @handmaedd blessed the evening with her multi media works. Abby is studying her bachelor of fine arts at UNSW COFA.

“ I think a lot of aspects in our lives have evolved into forms of overconsumption. The ease and accessibility of modern technology, the internet and social media has given us countless advantages, but at the same time has created an immense pressure and sense of urgency to constantly capture, document, share and preserve our lived experiences.

In my work I wanted to remove this digital quality and urgency and embed my intangible archive into a corporeal form”

Jemma Brown has come back for her second exhibition with Mongoose Kitten.

Jemma is an emerging artist from Sydney’s northern beaches. Her practice has typically been fine lined, detailed drawings however she is now broadening to incorporate large oil paintings that involve bright colours and patterns. Her work usually follows a nostalgic, feminine design.

Jemma shares, “a girl stopped me to say that my work spoke to her on a personal level - saying that I encapsulated exactly what it feels like to be a woman, and I think I will remember that forever”

PEOPLE OF MONGOOSE KITTEN !!!!

We thank you all for such an amazing night. We were so happy to see our first exhibition/event come together. Seeing everyone immersed in the art that was showcased from our beautiful friends @artfromjem @kenn5a @jordan_dunn123 @ringocrosss and ofcourse @mongoosekitten, was so special and such a good start to what’s to come.
Also not to forget it wasn’t just the visual art that was showcased, but the audio art curated by @_alibilal had everyone in a trance. Building up the tension throughout the night from ambient soundscapes which fell into place exceptionally with the visual art, to housy driven tracks having everyone up on there feet dancing towards the end of the night, it was quite mesmerising.
Also a nice hour set to finish it off from @deaftoucan, always giving the people a boogie

huge mention to the photographers of the night also !!
