What ASPiRES me to INSPiRE YOU ??
Words and creating… the energy behind words have so much power!

✍🏾I’ve been journaling since I can remember;
with the encouragement of my mom and older sister Angela.

Collected all my journals filled with my feelings, thoughts, sketches, quotes, dreams, poetry, short stories, lyrics, music notes from piano songs I composed, track selections for DJ sets, personal goals + scribbles of creative ideas since I was 7 years old. I find it very liberating as well as healing, to be able to express + recharge with this type of outlet.

Being able to look back at old journals, reflect on personal growth and my creativity has been such an enlightening thing for myself and recommend it for anyone and everyone 🤗

In today’s world we use our digital notes on our phones or the keyboard on our laptops/ipads … but there’s nothing quite like having an old fashioned pen in your hand + jotting down whatever comes through, onto the real tangible feeling of paper.

I used to wait

To feel inspired for CREATIVITY to find me….
But creativity isn’t something I wait for anymore… it’s something I choose.

Sometimes I like
to read the dictionary like a lil nerd 🤓✨

I came across a beautiful word + it got me feeling thrills of titillation

meraki — to do something with soul, creativity, love, to put something of yourself into work

it made me think about the way I create. My passions have always moved in cycles… for a long time it was dance, music + DJing … now painting, writing, music, hooping, journaling, doodling, poetry, short stories. Sometimes one takes center stage while another quietly waits in the wings.

But even when the creative outlet changes, the intention behind it stays the same for moi:

meraki.

to pour a little piece of your soul into whatever you’re creating in that moment…
