“Burma. Songs of the River” presents a series of black-and-white photographs by Monica Denevan, created over two decades of travel to rural Burma. What began as a chance encounter with the country in 2000 evolved into an ongoing, intimate portrait of life along its rivers.

Thank you to everyone who attended the wonderful opening of my solo exhibition at Lechbinska Gallery in Zürich Thursday evening.

It was a thrill to see 23 of my photographs thoughtfully presented in the lovely gallery space. Thank you, Lechbinska Gallery, for beautifully framing the entire show.

And, thank you to the team at Hanson Digital in San Francisco for printing the medium and large pieces, and for being patient with my obsessive direction.

“Artlaunch” the ArtSpan San Francisco Open Studios kickoff event is Friday, Sept 18, 7 - 10 pm at SOMarts. Free admission

The evening is a preview of 300+ participating artists and a visual guide as one plans which studios to visit during the month long Open Studios event. All artwork is for sale.
