Project: Platoon x Spotify Africa Masterclass

An artist education workshop I had the pleasure of organizing alongside the Spotify team, bringing together emerging artists for a day of learning, knowledge-sharing, and connection.

Creating spaces for artists to learn, connect, and share knowledge is something I’m deeply passionate about, so I’m grateful to have been part of a team at Platoon that championed this initiative—and to Spotify for partnering with us to bring it to life.

The campaign brought together artists, songwriters and producers from across Africa and the diaspora for a multi-day writing camp, creator masterclasses and community programming, culminating in six A COLORS SHOW performances and interviews featuring Kenyan R&B artists.

This included a special Spotify Singles cover of Sauti Sol’s Lazizi, celebrating the anniversary of Mwanzo and paying homage to a band that greatly influenced her musical journey; a feature on Beat School through Spotify’s US-led Frequency programme, spotlighting Black creators globally; and a RADAR mini-documentary exploring Xenia’s story and artistry.
