What if you could create a sacred practice designed specifically for what you need in your life right now?
✨
I recently completed a 30-day sadhana of my own to honor my son in heaven, and I was reminded of how powerful it can be to devote yourself to one clear intention and return to it every day.

When I shared this with the women in my Tantra Yoga Sadhana community, they asked if I could show them how to create a 30-day practice of their own, so I created this gorgeous guide for them.
And YOU!
🤩
Creating Your Own 30-Day Sadhana walks you step by step and includes yoga, mantra, tantra, breath, and devotion.

I share how to choose your intention, create your practice and make it a beautiful ritual that you will be excited to wake up for everyday.

Sadhana = ā€œyour sacred practice.ā€

See what happens when you devote yourself with these ancient practices that can increase your self-love, mental wellbeing, physical health, and so much more.

This is my gift to you because I know that YOU will become a gift to the world when you make yourself and your intention a priority.

šŸŽ Comment PRACTICE and I’ll send you the free guide.

ā€œThe Power is Practice.
Practice is the Path.
The Path is Love.ā€

For me, this is personal. ā¤ļø

Eight years ago today, my oldest son, Cheyne, left this world by suicide.

Something my Tantra teacher reminded me of this morning has stayed with me: no matter how spiritual we are, we cannot spiritualize death.

I have a beautiful and very real spiritual relationship with Cheyne. I feel him. I talk to him. I receive guidance from him. I am deeply grateful for the ways our relationship has continued beyond his physical life.

But I am also his mother.

I am a human being with a human heart, and I miss my son in his physical form. I miss his laugh. His presence. His body. His voice. I miss being able to reach out and touch him.

People may see me surfing, teaching, laughing, traveling, loving my life, and showing up with a lot of strength and courage. All of that is real.

This is real, too.

I have been devastated by the suicide of my son. I carry trauma from his death. There are days when I am strong, and there are days when I am not okay.

Sometimes it is okay not to be okay.

This is part of why Suicide Prevention Month matters so deeply to me. I want to do whatever small part I can to help prevent another person from dying by suicide, and I want those who have survived the suicide of someone they love to know they are not alone.

This year, Cheyne has been asking something different of me:

ā€œRemember my life, Mom.ā€

So I am.

I am remembering how he lived. His fire. His laughter. His love. The incredible athlete he was. The big brother he was to Skye and Ronin. The beautiful memories we made together.

His death is part of his story, but it is not the meaning of his life.

Today I am making room for all of it—the grief and the gratitude, the human and the spiritual, the tears and the beautiful memories.

Swipe through if you feel called. I hope something here helps someone who needs it today.

I love you forever, Cheyne.
And I will keep remembering how you lived. ā¤ļø

This is a vulnerable post for meāš”ļø

This past year has been one of the most beautiful years of my life; experiencing epic love, spending extraordinary quality time with my sons, family, and friends, traveling the world, teaching at festivals and events and sharing what I love, surfing and living the jungle life, what more could a girl ask for?

When that girl is 60 years old and has come through everything that I’ve been through as a single mom, the grief journey that turned my life upside down, working nonstop for over 25 years - even though it’s serving the people and sharing the yoga and tantra path of my heart - my body is finally saying that I need some rest.

I’m entering a new chapter, and I want to share my truth with you.

Here’s some questions I’ve been asking myself this past few months:

Who am I if I’m not helping transform lives?

Am I worthy enough to slow down and rest?

Is it time to put my energy into the true love that I prayed for all my life?

Have I done enough?

What will possibly come through me if I take a pause, take care of my health, be brave and allow myself to receive, and listen to what God wants to come through me next?

As odd as it seems, it’s harder than you can imagine, but I’m going to practice what I have been teaching all these years and love myself enough to take a leap of faith and trust that this is part of my divine plan.

My prayer is that it’s for the benefit of all beings.

Including YOU.

ā€œ When you love yourself, you love the world!ā€

THE GODDESS ENERGY CAN SAVE THE WORLD.
šŸ”±
Years ago, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was widely quoted as saying, ā€œThe world will be saved by the Western woman.ā€

I believe the awakening of the Divine Feminine, in women AND men, is one of the greatest medicines our world needs right now.

With wars raging, violence against women, and the heartbreaking allegations coming out of Cornell University, how can we not recognize the urgent need for a shift in consciousness?

This is why I love NAVARATRI, the sacred nine-night Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and the awakening of Shakti, the Divine Feminine power within us all.

It’s an invitation to awaken your courage, fierce compassion, love, generosity, wisdom, intuition, creativity, discernment, and the strength to stand for truth.

For nearly two decades, I’ve celebrated this beautiful festival, and somehow, every year, it arrives at exactly the right moment in my life.

As autumn invites us inward, Navaratri offers a sacred opportunity to clear away what no longer serves, renew our devotion, deepen our spiritual practice, and begin again.

Rooted in the ancient spiritual traditions of India, this festival is a gift we can honor with reverence, humility, and gratitude for the sacred lineages that have preserved these teachings for us all.

The Goddess is not simply something we worship. Her qualities are a sacred power we are invited to embody.

Now, more than ever, humanity needs us to embody this courage, compassion, love, and wisdom.

✨ I’ve created a beautiful FREE 9-Day Navaratri Guide to accompany you through the entire festival, with teachings and practices to awaken these sacred qualities within yourself.

Comment GUIDE below, and I’ll send it to you!
šŸ’Œ

Share this with someone who needs a little Goddess energy right now.

Jai Ma! 🪬

My big sister. My baby sister. And me. šŸ¤

There’s something so special about being with your actual sisters—the women who are woven into the story of your life in a way no one else quite can be.

Our family story is a little unique. My big sister and I grew up together, and many years later, after our dad remarried, our baby sister came into the world to bless us—more than 20 years younger than us!

Different mothers, different generations, but the same dad—and from the very beginning, simply sisters. šŸ¤

Our dad is no longer here, which somehow makes being together feel even more precious. He is the beautiful thread that brought the three of us together, along with his wonderful wife we all adore.

Now, somehow, both of my sisters have landed in the same beautiful little mountain town of Lake Placid, and getting to spend this time with the three of us together felt like such a historical moment in our family story.

One of the sweetest parts was discovering all the funny little things we have in common—the things we like, the ways we think, the little quirks and similarities that had us laughing and saying, ā€œOf course we’re sisters!ā€ šŸ˜‚

We’ve lived through different generations and different chapters of life, yet there are these invisible threads that connect us.

Three sisters.
Three different lives.
One dad who brought us all together.
And a bond that reaches across all those years. šŸ¤

I am so blessed to have my sisters and this very special time with them!

Suicide Awareness Month is very personal for me since my son Cheyne died from suicide, in September no less.
🌹
I wrote this book to help people dealing with grief, to spread awareness to prevent suicide, and to provide support for suicide loss survivors like myself.

This epidemic goes way beyond just suicide, as most people who leave the world in this way are suffering from mental health and alcohol and drug issues.

All of them are Gods children, as we all are, and if we all become educated many lives of those we love can be spared.

I offer you this book from my heart, full of my own thoughts, and Cheyne’s channeled messages of love & hope.

Everyone will find a special message here, and every school, library, and home will have a resource for the people and families who are touched by suicide.

It’s my deepest prayer that we can all support this cause and ensure that every precious human life can heal and thrive.

Link in bio and each book comes with my Free Power of Practice 7 week course that provides sacred practices for physical, spiritual, and mental health.

With all our love,

Me & Cheyne

To my dog in heaven šŸ•

Dear Shanti,

A year ago today, you left this world, and I have missed you so much.

You came into our lives as this tiny little peanut and brought so much joy to our old golden, Bello, my three boys, and all our mountain adventures in Crested Butte.

And then, after Cheyne left the planet, you became my emotional support dog, and I truly don’t know how I would have made it through those years without you.

You stayed by my side through my grief and healing journey and you went everywhere with me.

Costa Rica. Mexico. Colombia. Yoga festivals. Teacher trainings. Tantra gatherings. Beaches. Mountains. You even came surfing with me, waiting patiently on the beach until I came out of the water.

And when Nosara became home, you became my little beach dog.

When I think about our years together, I realize how crazy lucky we both were. I got to have you by my side through one of the most important chapters of my life, and I got to be by your side for your whole life—to love you, play with you, take you on adventures, and be the dynamic duo that we were.

What an honor that was.

Somehow, even after you left, you kept taking care of me. You brought me Lila. No one could ever take your place, but somehow my heart simply expanded.

Thank you, my teeny tiny.

Thank you for all the years of devotion. For the mountains and the beaches, the endless sunset walks and adventures, the cuddles and all your sweet licks.

Thank you for staying beside me through the hardest loss of my life and helping me learn how to survive it.

Thank you for being my family, my companion, and my soul dog.

I hope wherever you are, you’re running free, and maybe you found your way back to Cheyne.

I’ll keep walking to ā€œShanti’s rock.ā€

I’ll keep feeling you tucked into my arm.

I’ll keep loving you, because love never ends.

You live in my heart Shanti!

These photos look like joy. And they are. But they aren’t the whole story.
šŸ™ˆ
These past few weeks have held so much life.

Being home in Nosara. Surfing. The ocean. Lila. Peter. Family. Friends. Travel. Martha’s Vineyard. Staying close to my sons and their journeys. Taking care of my body and my health. Loving, healing, laughing, learning, and feeling deeply present with it all.

Maybe that’s what home means to me now—not only a place, but feeling deeply rooted and grateful for this life God has gifted me.

Yet underneath all of this joy, I can feel myself tenderly preparing for what’s next.

September is coming.

September 8 is the anniversary of my son Cheyne’s transition, and each year my body seems to know it’s approaching before the date ever arrives.

So this month I’ve chosen a 30-day sadhana devoted to him—my yoga, prayer, mantra, tantra, pranayama and meditation, all offered in his honor.

One of the greatest things my practice and the path of Tantra have taught me is that all aspects of life are sacred:

Grief and gratitude.
Heartbreak and healing.
Devotion and pleasure.
Endings and beginnings.

Joy doesn’t mean I have forgotten my grief.

Grief doesn’t mean I have stopped choosing joy.

My spiritual practice is the steady thread that helps me hold it all—to stay present for the waves rather than waiting for life to stop making waves.

A beautiful life can hold grief too.

Giving young men a chance to rise.

It’s one of the parting gifts my son Cheyne gave me when he went to the Upper World.

He makes it clear.
Who. What. Why. When.

Now.

Soul on Fire Surf Scholarship Fund was born from love and created in his memory. He loved surfing, but never got the chance to fully live out all of his surf dreams.

Today that love lives on by helping young, profoundly under resourced Colombian surfers access opportunities their talent has earned.

Right now one of our athletes needs us again as he’s earned his spot and been invited to the ISA Junior World Championships in El Salvador.

Together, we got him there last year, and together we’ll get him there again this year.

To everyone who has donated, shared, coached, mentored, cheered, provided equipment or opened a door - thank you!

YOU are part of Soul on Fire, and we are just getting started, so you can donate now for Oscar, Chispy, and all of our future athletes,
šŸ”— in bio.

With what Colombia is going through right now after the earthquake, I feel it’s a particularly good time to give back to this country - the country of my roots - and it’s people.

Ride the wave. Change a life!

This is a man with a lion heart šŸ¦ā™„ļø

Today on the Lionsgate 8.8. I celebrate the birthday of one of my most beloved Tantra Yoga teachers, @michael.tantra.yoga

You may not know him, unless you’re lucky like me, because as most true teachers are, he is very humble, flows below the radar, tends to be practicing more than he’s on social media, and is one of the most studious and devoted practitioners I know.

We met three years ago, when I was studying Tantra at a training, where he was one of the faculty. We got to be with him every morning for about three hours for a month and when it was over I continued to study with him weekly.

He has been as devoted to me and my Tantra and healing path - giving me more than I could ever have asked of a teacher.

He makes it a point to give me a class on the grief anniversary of my son Cheyne’s passing, his birthday, and all of the most difficult, and also cherished days of my year, no matter where either one of us are on the globe.

He has shared with me all the direct teachings he has received from his own Gurus, his own trials and tribulations, and all the way he has made me feel like I have been one of his teachers as well.

A true teacher shines the light back onto the light of your own luminescence, and that is what he has continued to give me.

We understand each other as spiritual seekers, freaks of nature, and devotees aspiring to live, love, and learn the ways of wisdom, so that we can share it with others and help all heal.

A man on a mission is one of the most beautiful and powerful gifts for our planet in these extraordinary times, so I celebrate his lion heart and soul and wanted to share him with all of you.

Om Namah Shivaya!

A single flower can awaken love 🌼

This is a frangipani, one of Costa Rica’s most beloved blossoms. Its fragrance is rich, soft, and deeply sensual.

For centuries it has been associated with love, beauty, devotion, and the sacred.

In tantra, the senses are not a distraction from awakening. They are one of the doorways.

Pause.

Breathe in the fragrance.
Notice the colors.
Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Listen to the breeze moving through the trees.

You don’t have to chase extraordinary moments.

Sometimes awakening begins when you allow yourself to be completely present for an ordinary one.

This is one of the many gifts Costa Rica offers so effortlessly. It gently reminds you to slow down, soften, and truly receive.

This December, I’ll be sharing so much more than yoga on my Awakening the Goddess Within retreat. We’ll immerse ourselves in practices that awaken the heart, the body, the senses, and the soul—all surrounded by the beauty of this extraordinary place.

When you slow down enough to truly receive, life begins to reveal its sacredness.

We have two rooms left, and if you have always wanted to immerse yourself in the path of love, me and the other amazing goddesses coming are ready to welcome you in!
