Weaving

Isn't that what we as humans? Turning, spinning and connecting. Forming, holding and letting go. Creating is a constant, loving a mantra.

Presence, observing and then it arrives as if time was expansive..........belief by @moniqueloveringstudio

This painting was one of the first I completed when I was living in Palermo, Sicily. It feels strange to look back to this work after so many years. Red, was my obsession, in red I found some type of liberation and strength. Perhaps the colour speaks of my need to absorb the intensity of living there.

An island that has with stood many invaders over centuries, complex and rich in history. Raw, viseral and robust. This painting now resides in the home of my sister across the Tasman sea.

So much has happened since I made this painting, always evolving, learning and pushing myself forward. There are still lots of works in storage in Palermo, soon to be seen and revealed.

I stiĺl love red and all its possibilities. X

'I go to the piano, and I play two preludes and fugeres of bach. It is a benediction on the house.

Its a rediscovery of the world of which i have the joy of being a part. It fills me with awareness of the wonder of life, with feelings of the incredible marvel of being a human' - Cellist Pablo Casals by @moniqueloveringstudio
