Sacred. Surreal. A perfect way to celebrate 10 years of music, sound system culture, and community.

The diversity of people, the energy in the dance, the deep love for reggae music — it was beautiful to witness. People from all over the world coming together through bass, rhythm, and connection, now that’s what I’m talking about !

🇯🇵 Japanese / 🇨🇦 Canada-based freelance writer and field reporter covering reggae, dub, and sound system culture.
Working directly within the scene, she documents stories from the ground while also supporting artist bookings and serving as the Japan contact for 🇮🇳 Goa Sunsplash.

The bass spoke, People felt

As Dakta Dub took control of the Monkey Sound System, Reggae riddims rolled across Earth Bound, drawing people together through sound, movement, and connection.

What began as music became a shared experience. Hyd massive dancing side by side, carried by deep subbass, uplifting melodies, and the unmistakable spirit of Sound System Culture.

For 5 hours, the dance floor became a space of pure vibration, where people moved as one vibration under the open sky, united by riddims, energy, and the simple joy of being present in the moment.

A huge welcome to my very first special guest, @skankingstar a Reggae fanatic and the kind of person who stops a tune mid-play just to rewind it and explain why a certain element in the track hits so hard and continues to dance to it. 🕺🏽🕺🏽

To start things of we’ll talk about what made him Skanking Star, his journey with @monkeysoundsystem & @daktadub , and the passion behind the music. Then for the second hour of the show, he’ll take over the decks, spinning heavyweight offbeat Reggae and Rocksteady exclusively on vinyl.

Monkey Sound System at Earthbound 2.0

Reggae is not just music. It is livity: the way we live, the way we relate, the way we respect all creation.

From the roots of Jamaica to the plateaus of India,
sound system culture carries a message of I&I unity, balance, and respect for life in all forms.

At Earthbound, the sound is not to dominate, but to align with the earth, the body, and the spirit.

Every frequency we play is a reminder, we are not separate from nature, we are part of it.

Earth Bound is bringing Hyderabad together. 🌍

“Organising a cruelty-free, zero-waste event with no-harm guidelines for animals and plants can be exhausting for one community. When multiple communities come together, each contributes their strengths, strengthening the festival’s overall impact.” — Harsha Komet

For a long time, we’ve envisioned a space like Earth Bound — bringing together sustainability, wellness, community art, music, workshops, and conscious conversations.
Something for the city, but not shaped by what the city usually demands.

A space to feel grounded.
Closer to nature.
Where people can come together without judgement, labels, or pressure.

Right now, spaces like this feel important.
A chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and each other — to move freely, eat consciously, and just be.

From a curated flea market and vegan food to handmade creations, movement practices, sound sessions, and music inspired by Jamaican roots — Earth Bound 2.0 brings it all together without trying to be anything more than what it is:

It’s a space where people come together…
to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
