The Adventure of Finding It and Then Losing It

Open through 7/28 at @pram.studio
Curated by @sarka_koudelova ❤️‍🩹

1. We experience conflict and crisis of meaning when we are in disharmony with what our soul wants from us and this is an inherently humbling yet crucial experience.

2. I must extend gratitude and bow to my special friend @enakantardzic , who is far too evolved to use Instagram, but insane enough to help me install this show and stay up past sunrise with me, stringing charms and tying knots. More importantly, Ena has this miraculous, superhuman power where they always manage to give me grace whenever I throw one of my many diva-meltdowns over my art not looking the way I want it to :P

And these are some photos of the show during both daylight and nighttime :)

We’re proud to spotlight our featured artist for Issue One, Amy Saikia Wilson!

Amy is an artist and writer whose work has been exhibited internationally. She is a graduate from the Art Institute of Chicago and received her MFA in ceramics at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

“When I begin a piece, I am not sure how it will end, but I know that it has validity because it comes into being from an inner necessity. Through sculpture and installation, I fit together sometimes strange elements to erect an incident or entity, often involving a female protagonist. I find, once complete, the total springs an aura not visible in its initial parts. In becoming, it becomes more. Each making of a work of art comes to be another instance where I recreate myself, assimilating into a practice that is a continuous, ongoing discovery of self. Through the deeply personal, may I arrive at something universal.”
A.S.W

Issue One Un/Natural will be released and available on July 17th at @__________flatline . by @monkeyyrunner

I made a painting. It will never happen again. But it will be hidden somewhere in an installation for my solo show - which opens next week at @pram.studio 🤨 by @monkeyyrunner

Frolicking with my dear friend Salome.. We finally rolled up our sleeves and executed a mission to be in each other’s physical presence after 7 years of living on separate hemispheres and communicating only through telepathy! She is such a graceful, introspective, hilarious and honorable human and I have admired her since the day I met her 💝 (which was on Wabash Avenue, Chicago, on our way to a party, circa 2016). taken in Praha, Czech by @monkeyyrunner
