Olympo - Exhibition | 2021
by @monnierandres @monnierstudio

It’s been three years since our first exhibition, and we are deeply grateful for everything this project has brought us. Each piece has been part of an unforgettable journey.

Olympo.

Body of work by Andrés Monnier as part of his first collectible and sculptural design solo exhibition. The artist and his team work with different stones from Mexico to create a collection inspired in Ancient Greek stories and Greek Mythology, working as a sinergy of cultures through the materials and processes of sculpting.

The exhibition showed all the pieces of the collection, along with visuals and evidence of the creating and sculpting process behind each design. The collection is composed with pieces in different states of matter with a multisensorial purpose. Starting from minimum intervention in sculpting, and ascending to more intricate and complex techniques of creation.

Our new ‘Apparentia’ - Fire Table installed in an amazing project commissioned by @dcorami_interiorismo

A piece that gathers.

Rough edges and stepped layers frame an open center, where fire becomes the focus. Apparentia brings the familiar act of gathering around a flame into a sculptural piece.

‘Sekichū 石柱’ - Candelabra

The shape of a ritual.

Sekichū brings Japanese and Mexican influences into a piece that holds space for light and memory. Placing a candle, lighting it, letting it burn: an everyday gesture becomes intentional, while the stone bears the traces of each ritual.

‘Arctuaria’ - Totem

A delicate balance of weight.

Arctuaria rises through a series of narrow points of contact. Its offset forms appear caught mid-motion, lending a sense of fragility to a substantial piece.

‘Kanzō Ata’

Stone, wood and handwoven natural fibers held in tension.

A sculptural table where a monolithic stone base anchors an elongated wooden surface, connected through a rhythmic sequence of handwoven natural fibers. Mass and lightness coexist within the structure, bringing together raw material, craftsmanship and structural tension.

‘Pyrus - Firepit’

Pyrus revisits one of Andrés Monnier Studio’s signature design languages: modular stone volumes, column-like forms and stepped compositions.

Arranged around fire, the fragmented elements come together as a single sculptural structure.

‘Nido - Daybed’ + ‘Ordo - Side Table’

A study in softness, structure and proportion.
Nido debuts in a new configuration, with an integrated wooden base replacing the extended platform of the original design.
Paired with Ordo Side Table, a solid wood composition defined by repetition and rhythm.

‘Amai - Coffee Table’

A sculptural composition of stone and wood, shaped through contrast, balance and an elongated asymmetry. The stone top extends outward from a compact wooden base, giving the piece a distinct sense of tension and movement.

‘Ardere - Sculpture’
Fire carved in stone.

Hand-carved in red travertine, ‘Ardere’ captures the movement and irregularity of a flame, transforming something ephemeral into a permanent mineral form.

Each piece is individually carved and inherently unique.
