Everything you make is built from what came before it. The trick is making it sound like you.

I learned this vinyl hack MANY moons ago from NYC House Music legend Steven Caicedo.

My left and right channels were noticeably unbalanced — one side was louder than the other.

He told me to remove the cartridge, and touch the cartridge connectors with my tongue, put it back on… and suddenly the channels were balanced again. 🤯

The explanation I was given was that the moisture/conductivity helps the signal get through the contacts.

Whatever the exact electrical explanation, it can work as a quick diagnostic when you have a channel imbalance.

Is this common knowledge or am I dropping DJ bombs?

I just discovered this and it immediately made sampling so much faster.
