Crabs in a barrel mentality describes a mindset where individuals in a group prevent others from succeeding often out of fear ensuring no one escapes the groups limitation. It is a metaphor, derived from observing crabs in a bucket when one crab tries to climb out the others pull it back, preventing escape and assuring the groups collective demise in human behavior it describes situations where people attempt to handle the success of others even when the success does not directly affect them, “if I can’t have it, neither can you.”

Sometimes you have to move around and then also be willing to let go of what no longer suits you, being mindful and aware of the mindset of others…the comments, responses, or lack there of.

Accepting not everyone is encouraging you, not everyone is clapping for your success, and not every prayer is positive.

Please don’t let someone else’s fear stop you!! Reach for the top and escape the barrel!

Q.4 Recap
Theme: Slow and Steady Wins the a Race

• Stared the quarter with a visit to D.C. Went to the National African-American Museum. #Afro-Latina 🇵🇷

• Celebrated my niece’s 1st birthday 🦋

• Went to the Apple Orchard for a slushie 🍏

• Attended Caviar and Pearls. #SomethingNew

• Attended the Margarita Ball for the first time 🪩

• MC’ed a wonderful event for a great cause 🌺

• Took my Dad to see Katt Williams for this Birthday. Thought I was cute 😉

• Much needed Friend Date 🫶🏽🩷

• Hosted Thanksgiving, cooked everything, and ended with a game of Uno ( I lost 😞)

• Christmas Gift exchange with my friends 🥰

• Best Christmas Present was a visit from my brother💙

This year was full of new experiences and memories that I Thank GOD for!
