Today marks a month since the “Confidently Lost” show.😇

I got to unlock a new level in my craft while achieving a dream — performing a full solo show of my own music.

Opened with [CHI]MES, the first track from my debut album her[ART] (2019) — with timeless lyrics by @amanda_lyimo and voice mixing by @semalye_thii. The chimes and low-end swells helped me sink into the moment, with the name [CHI] as a reminder of flow and balance in motion.

I finally got my print copies of @musicworksmag Summer 2026 issue! It's a great pleasure to write a feature on Kenyan electronic artist @monrhea_. Meeting her back in 2023 at Darmstadt, it was fun recalling that moment when her no-nonsense remarks on contemporary orchestra music made me stop on my tracks. I never forgot all that, and now it is part of our shared story.

Also as a writer, I've long promised to take magazine writing projects as challenges where I would write about things I know little of. I will always take an outsider position and start doing the legwork from there. It was no different with [MONRHEA]'s creative and real-life worlds. I learned new things, as expected.

Reconnected with genres I hadn’t played out in a while over the past few months. My soul was calling out for this and she appreciated the action :)

Special thanks to @siroontzalot and 33 Groove @shelterke for the space to explore this freedom.
And it’s been such a lovely time! 🖤

For some, this might come as a surprise, or even feel like a shift away from what you’ve known me for.

We all need music that grounds us regardless of our various experiments and exploration in the electronic music realm. Grounding in the origins of the various sounds that have evolved over time.

In light of Black History Month, for tonight’s Feel Good Friday, I’ll be taking you through the roots of the genres that we know of today… tracing them back to the African diaspora, paying homage, and remembering where it all began, back here at home, Mama Africa.

@shelterke is one of my favorite places in Nairobi: cosy ambience, good people, and conversations every time. Feel Good Fridays nights especially are a way to wind down from your week.

I’ve been eyeing this night, and I’m more than excited to curate a 4+ hour set, setting the ambience for you and your friends to have a good time. I definitely will :)

Expect a soulful build through the night through Ethio-jazz, funk, new jack swing, hip-hop, deep house, kwaito and more, and of course, my bass touch :)

My big Afro hair is out for this night 🪮🪮🪮
