𝐼 𝒹𝒾𝑒𝒹, 𝑜𝓃𝒸𝑒

Images on silk, expanded polyurethane, tracing paper, ink jet prints, found objects, archival images.

A glimpse at my most recent and ongoing work made @radio28cs in the heart of my hometown, Mexico City.

In 2020, while researching my family history, I found a document stating that my paternal grandfather, who was still living at the time, had died in 1934. My project, I died once, began with this incident, which initiated a series of discoveries about my history as family members shared with me photographs and documents presenting me with multiple histories, not all of which matched the stories I had been told. This research became a way for me to connect with family abroad. I began conceiving of a body of work: a personal archival project concerned less with “facts” than with speculative histories, intergenerational gestures, and healing through an understanding of one’s own narrative.

My best friend got married, and I got to photograph it. 13 years of friendship, countless photographs of her, and now I got to photograph her as a bride 🥹❤️!!

So much love for these two. Congratulations Monse & Raf, here’s to everything that comes next.✨

new song ‘sen’ out now on @nnatapes 🌹

I’m terrified that I’ve lost my voice, but look at me now, I’m screaming.

I wrote this song after reading The Lonesome Bodybuilder by Yukiko Motoya. A tense lullaby, I wanted to make a gentle song. It’s actually one of the first songs I wrote when starting Vapor. At first I didn’t want to include it, but more and more, it started to make sense, so here we are.
