This remarkable hanging lantern reportedly came from a prominent Middletown, Connecticut, residence believed to have been the first home in town with electricity. While we’re still researching its provenance, the fixture itself is something special. Featuring richly detailed brass-toned metalwork, elegant Art Nouveau–influenced scrolls, fan-shaped amber glass accents, and striking turquoise opalescent panels, this lantern is a beautiful example of decorative lighting craftsmanship. The combination of architectural detail, color, and intricate ornamentation makes it as much a statement piece as a functional light fixture. Beautiful craftsmanship. Intriguing history. Exactly the kind of find we love. 👹 MONSTER FINDS | Building 2 📍 Recollective | 588 State Street, Bridgeport, CT 🕰️ Sundays | 10 AM–4 PM DM us for details! @monster_finds_cool_stuff #MonsterFinds #AntiqueLighting #VintageLighting #MiddletownCT #ArtNouveauStyle OpalescentGlass HistoricHomes ConnecticutAntiques RecollectiveCT BridgeportCT Bpt Art Trail Antique lighting, Vintage lighting, Antique lantern, Vintage hanging lantern, Art Nouveau lighting, Art Nouveau design, Opalescent glass, Turquoise glass, Stained glass lighting, Ornate brass lantern, Brass light fixture, Decorative lighting, Historic lighting, Antique light fixtures, Vintage pendant lighting, Architectural antiques, Architectural salvage, Historic homes, Victorian home decor, Period lighting, Antique restoration, Statement lighting, Vintage home decor, Eclectic interiors, Maximalist decor, Interior design inspiration, One of a kind antiques, Antique collectors, Vintage collectors, Connecticut antiques, Connecticut vintage, Middletown Connecticut, Bridgeport Connecticut, Fairfield County antiques, New England antiques, Antique shopping Connecticut, Recollective Marketplace, Monster Finds by @monster_finds_cool_stuff

There really is no matching the desirability of an authentic Tiffany Studios lamp. However, if you don’t have an extra 65k lying around, this locally made leaded glass lamp is a really good stand in. The quality is superb. The artists choice of glass showed they really knew that color contrast can make the designs pop. Hundreds of hours would have went in to creating it. Now, is it a Tiffany Lamp? No. But is it an exceptional lamp in its own regard? Yes. If you want the look without the price tag, come down to @recollectivect in Bridgeport, CT 10-4 every Sunday. Halloween Saturday we are open as well. Come get weird with @mrsmonsterfinds and myself. New inventory coming in, old inventory being sold at great prices. #antiques #vintage #antiquelamps #bridgeportct #vintagelighting by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
Took a quick jaunt over to a tag sale to kill some time and came across some mixed uranium glass. Don’t really know anything more than I like glowing shit. Come take advantage of my ignorance Sunday from 10-4 @recollectivect in Bridgeport, CT. You are gonna have to fight @mrsmonsterfinds for the flower frog though. #antiques #vintage #uraniumglass #ctsmallbusiness #bridgeport by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
Hi. Long time, no post. @mrsmonsterfinds and I have been working hard and having fun tracking down unique and interesting items to bring down to @recollectivect for everybody. One of our new favorites is this table shaped lamp. Some weirdo named Otto Guggenheim took a perfectly good light and stuck a surfboard-shaped glass table top on it. I’m kidding, obviously. It’s really quite an incredible illuminated coffee table. Walnut veneered base with brass arch supports. All original. Some signs of age and use but, again, who wouldn’t after 60 years. We will be down at the shop Sunday from 10-4. You can also hit me up anytime for private showings. We are running some great deals this weekend so we can free up some space for new inventory. #vintage #antiquelamps #vintagelighting #recollective #ctsmallbusiness by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
I’ve had this for a while now. Always kinda hid it and never gave it the front and center spot if deserved. I think, secretly, I never wanted to sell it. It’s sitting down @recollectivect waiting for somebody from Ridgewood to come get it. I don’t know what Ridgewood it’s referring to but they commissioned some pretty nice stuff by the look of it. It’s made with a Cast aluminum front and stainless steel case. Oh, also a nice pair of Mersman Step Side Tables and a Lane side Table. Practical and sturdy. #vintage #antiques #ridgewood #advertising #antiquelamps by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
Advertising is a funny thing. Difficult to come by, cost prohibitive, etc. I’ve opted to think outside the box to start. Pure novelty. Inherent comedy. Things that’ll make you smile just by looking at them. as far as the first sign goes, we should all be so lucky. This and more available tomorrow down @recollectivect in Bridgeport, CT. We will be open 10-4. Come stay dry #vintage #antiquelamps #bridgeportct #oldsigns by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
I don’t always go to thrift stores but, when I do, I buy 4’x5’ heavy as shit homemade pagoda display cabinets. And it’s wired up so it counts as a light. Made in Chester, CT about 60 years ago. Can’t imagine a better option to display a small collection. It’ll be down @recollectivect in the coming weeks. Might just have to reinforce the floor first. #vintage #antiques #antiquelamps #vintagelighting #bridgeportct by @monster_finds_cool_stuff
10 finds. One vendor. And you can only pick ONE. 👀 We’re back with another Pick 10, and this lineup is making the decision especially difficult.
