Dear Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Czech Republic, I owe you the biggest debt. Not only for the memories you’ve bestowed upon me, but for the beautiful experiences you allowed me to give my mother. This Christmas trip was meant to be a present for her and it became more than that. It became a showcase of love, happiness, and mental exploration. Long time no see. The past year has easily been one of the hardest I’ve ever dealt with. I remember back in middle school and growing up we never could afford nice clothes or a fresh haircut every other week or new shoes. I got made fun of a lot. But life’s opened up my eyes in more ways than I can explain. The same people that used to look down on me are the ones that now look up to me. It’s safe to say that if you stay down, stay solid, and stay focused, there’s nothing standing between you and greatness. I didn’t choose where I came from, but I chose where I wanted to be.
