If you were to ask me what I love about Juan, I’d start by saying his heart. Talk to him about Jesus and the Word and you’ll see his drive, his love and his passion first hand. In a way, he kind of reminds me of wrestling stubborn Jacob. He knows what God has promised and he wants it. But, you know how the Bible says David was a man after God’s own heart? That’s true about Juan too. His heart running right after God’s heart. It’s an honor to be able to run alongside him.

Now, Juan is chaotic in the best way possible. He radiates this childlike joy that’s so contagious. I don’t think anyone can say they’ve had the worst time with him because he’ll have you laughing in less than a minute. And while everyone knows him and his joyful personality, I have the privilege of seeing his compassion, his patience, his gentleness, and his tender heart. The grace he carries is captivating.

If you’ve seen him in person or on his socials, you know there’s not a doubt he has been gifted with talent. If you don’t know him, all I will say is: perfect pitch, though I should probably brag about the fact he sings in ways you wouldn’t ever think of singing(Nate Diaz who?), and he can play piano, bass, guitar, drums and cello. I’m sure in a couple years that list will grow because one of the most admirable things about him is his willingness and eagerness to learn more.

Juan, I might not know or understand every single thing about you right now, but I’m willing to spend a lifetime figuring you out.
