Dear Lake Family and People who Care

We are facing an urgent environmental crisis at Lake Atitlán explained in the video above.

This situation demands immediate and coordinated action. We are reaching out to governmental institutions (including MARN, AMSCLAE, and municipal and indigenous authorities), private organizations, and concerned citizens to join forces in finalizing and executing an emergency response as well as a sustainable plan to:
- Remove existing waste from the lake safely and efficiently.
- Identify and stop pollution sources at their origin.
- Implement long-term waste management and community education strategies to prevent recurrence.

Additionally, we are holding a local cleanup meeting today (Monday Oct 13th) at 3:15 PM at the main dock in San Marcos to begin small-scale action while larger plans are developed. All day today we will be in Circles offering gloves and trash bags for individuals that can go out during the day. Your participation or support is NEEDED

🎥❄️ Behind the Scenes: Cold Road ❄️🎥

When one of my closest and most talented videographer friends, River Easton, called me with a last-minute opportunity to join the Cold Road film crew, I couldn’t say no. Two days later, I was behind the wheel of my souped-up Land Cruiser, braving a 19-hour winter drive to Hay River, NWT.

The journey itself felt like a scene from the movie: dead-quiet roads, frozen landscapes, a bank freezing my cards, no cell service, and running low on gas. It was like stepping into the story of the film—a true connection to its themes of isolation and survival.

Once on set, River and I worked and adventured through the Northwest Territories, battling long, frozen nights with caffeine, snacks, and the mesmerizing beauty of the Northern Lights. From frostbitten toes (which took almost a year to recover) to life-long friendships forged in the cold, this experience pushed me to my limits and beyond.

📽️ As Second Camera Assistant, I learned to adapt to extreme conditions, manage gear in subzero temperatures, and keep things rolling, even when frostbite was creeping in. It’s a testament to what I can bring to any shoot—dedication, adaptability, and a passion for storytelling, no matter the conditions.

And the payoff? An epic film, an IMDb credit, and a heart full of memories. 🎬 If you’re ready to create bold, boundary-pushing visuals, I’m your person. Let’s make magic happen!

Working as Second Camera Assistant on 'Cold Road,' an indie thriller directed by Kelvin Redvers, was an unforgettable journey that tested my videography skills in the extreme conditions of Northern Canada.

Filmed on the frozen Great Slave Lake, this thriller was brought to life with high-stakes scenes of isolated ice roads, car crashes, and a heroic dog. Battling freezing temperatures, I ensured our cameras were rolling by managing endless batteries, handling heavy lenses, and capturing key moments in this atmospheric story.

About the Film:
An Indigenous woman and her dog fight to survive on a frozen highway, hunted by a relentless stranger in a semi-truck.
