Seven books sit on my bed frame, I’ve never had so many cracked open at once. I start one, put it down to read or re-read another. Moving still towards something’s natural end, rather than racing towards an arbitrary one.

Receiving and respecting a reality in real time. Patiently listening to my rhythm, when do I open and when do I close?

Letting my body absorb pain, allowing my spirit to perform and transform, without changing a thing.

I imagine little islands, none of equal size or weight, creating a path towards one rushing source. If you force or cheat, skip one to get ahead, you fall and you wade in limbo, destined to repeat until you stay still long enough to learn your rhythm. This is, seeing the source.

We are cosmos, cursed with a form. Only when you meet and trust the hand that guides you can you meet reality. Living there is love, in the present, to absorb and release in real time. That is, in your time.

When love is no longer a fantasy, it becomes the unabashed, the courageous and the terrifying present. That is, right here, the source. by @moollyclogwell

You light it up, you listen UP. be still and watch what rises.
know when to move, and remember that stillness is also action. Truth’s medium is not always the spoken word, so believe in something you cannot explain. faith is a great gift.
move with grace, always toward love. it’s always in bloom.

Permanence is a concept that I’ve always struggled with. How can anything be permanent when the very fabric of our existence is made up of the stuff of the cosmos, constantly curling, combining, changing in the magma of its own chemistry? I’ve come to realize that Presence IS permanence. Presence never stops, therefore a permanent state (until of course, we die. But even then….) I make films to create permanence. An image stops time, a movement in a piece of music can capture a feeling, a character can bring you face to face with your multitudes. It captures the present, it disrupts the natural rhythm. They used to say that a photograph would steal your soul. I think I will always spiritually wrestle with the unnaturalness of film, the technical engineering involved in creating a machine of memories. I don’t really have a conclusion, or why I felt the need to share all this. Disrupt the flow on here, I suppose. Reach out. Who knows if anyone will read it. But when the spirit moves you, you better move!

I have realized that creation is simultaneously a natural and forced state. Moving while staying still. Humbly sitting in this contradiction, or any contradiction, is prayer, to me. Being an artist is constantly living in a state of prayer, to me.

I am grateful to be here and love here, grateful to add something to the miracle magma that is life, and grateful I get to direct my memories into tangible existence. It’s really the thrill of a lifetime. When the spirit moves you… by @moollyclogwell

One step then another step then a couple more steps and you’re walking. thank the heavens you can walk! move lightly, love loudly, believe in something you can’t explain. find light in the dark. explore the dark. say it your way, but words aren’t always it. sometimes clarity comes in the form of a melody. see yourself in another, see another in yourself. walk out the door and expect goodness, it is remarkable how she endures and where she grows.
