i’m back, with my first ever anthologised poem (you know i love to write a good narrative poem), and i’ve been highly commended in a competition for the first time too! 🎉 this is such an important milestone for me, which is why i’m coming to share it here.

i recently participated in MinK 2024 - Tales from the City as part of @mklitfest and it really was something special. a huge congratulations to everyone who made it into the anthology! i loved reading everyone’s works, very well done 🥰🥰 thank you as well to everyone who organised the festival, you’re awesome 🫶

p.s: and it was all yellow 💛

i wrote this one because i’ve been feeling a quite down recently and i thought that day 21’s prompt was just the outlet i needed. i think my skeleton and my average day have a lot in common. - 🌙⛲️

it’s ironic but as it turns out you were the one 🫀 swipe for full poem >>>

i’m not sure how to feel about this one but i found an stanza i wrote in my notes app about a second-hand heart being advertised and i thought “oh my god that’s perfect for today’s prompt” so i finally managed to write something out of it :D

starting escapril on day 2 because i find prompts to be quite challenging to work with 😭 i decided to write in tanka form because i find japanese styles of poetry to be easy for me to turn to when i’m out of inspiration, i hope it looks okay! - 🌙⛲️

in december last year i got to go to the @nationalgallery in london and saw a few paintings by my favourite artist - vincent van gogh. it was his (170th!!) birthday yesterday so i’m posting this little thing i wrote after my visit to the national gallery - swipe for pictures by the way, the paintings are so gorgeous! i don’t think the camera does them justice because in person they’re so vibrant and beautiful. van gogh’s work has always fascinated me (fun fact: all my poetry notebooks have a different van gogh painting as the cover!) so to go and see some of his actual paintings felt amazing. thank you and happy belated birthday vincent! i’m also gonna tag @vangoghmuseum in this as well since they started the hashtag for his birthday <3 i’d love to visit the van gogh museum one day! - 🌙⛲️

(p.s escapril poems incoming!)
(p.p.s sorry if you can see the watermarks on my photos i’m just a lil self-conscious about my photos being stolen lmao)

aaand here’s the beginning of my new theme! it’s similar except the colours are more fixed and the background will be in a pattern! hopefully this will be something more uniform than the theme i had before. and in case anyone noticed, yes, the poem you’re reading onscreen is where the words on the yellow theme divider came from! though this one may be small, i think it holds so much power still. - 🌙⛲️
