Some moths find the light even in the darkest night.

Perhaps people are a little like that too.
Something draws us closer, even when we don’t know where it will lead.
Closer, always closer.

A flame can mean death to a moth.
Can love do the same to us?

And sometimes, the very light we fly toward changes everything. 🖤🦋 taken in Galleria Tärinä by @moonshamanka

The Death’s-head Hawkmoth has long been regarded in folklore as a messenger of death.

Even its name, Acherontia atropos, carries the symbolism of death:
Acheron is the river of sorrow in Greek mythology,
and Atropos is the Fate who cuts the thread of human life.

Perhaps that is exactly why there is something so fascinating about this moth –
beauty, darkness, and a mystery that seems to move along the border of death. 🖤

Moths symbolize transformation and the brevity of life for me – the endless cycle of birth, life and death.

Moths are fragile and their lives are short, yet within that brief moment there is something uniquely beautiful. Their beauty reminds me how temporary everything is, and at the same time, how deeply a single moment can leave its mark.

And yet, in their own way, they are eternal.

Love and death are not opposites to me. Both change a person forever.

Just as a moth flies toward the flame, we too move toward love – even knowing that it can bring both happiness and pain.

There is something deeply human in this: the need to love, to search, to take risks and to move toward the unknown, knowing that every experience has the power to change us.

For me, the moth is a symbol of the soul – something ends, something is born again, and the cycle begins anew. by @moonshamanka

Tänään tyhjennettiin vanha tila, ja käytiin ripustamassa teoksia uuteen näyttelyyn Ö-talolle @talo_rmk odottelemaan mitä keksitään Riihimäen Taiteiden yötä varten ✨️

Eilen Patsastelukahvit järjestettiin Tiedon puun äärellä. 🌿

Tiedon puu on Veikko Eskelisen vuonna 1985 valmistunut veistos, joka sijaitsee Riihimäellä osoitteessa Temppelikatu 3.

Patsastelukahveilla puhuttiin Tiedon puusta, sen taustasta ja julkisesta taiteesta yleisemmin. Teoksesta ja sen historiasta kertoi asiantuntijana Raisa Laurila-Hakulinen. Samalla keskusteltiin julkisesta taiteesta ja kulttuurista sekä siitä, kuinka paljon tarinoita tuttujenkin taideteosten taakse voi kätkeytyä.

Monien julkisen tilan taideteosten ohi kuljemme lähes huomaamatta, vaikka niiden taustalla voi olla paljon historiaa, tarinoita ja ajatuksia.

Tämä veistos jää kuitenkin aivan kirjaimellisesti monilta huomaamatta, sillä se on piilossa sisäpihalla. by @moonshamanka
