Naomi remaking her Alpharetta photo from Phish Alpharetta 2011 in the first two. The boys first show, Naomi’s 5th but first as an adult. My 35th show and first since @youvegotlightinyoureyes and I seperated. Wasn’t ready until now. “Horn” wrecked me. The kids and their energy and being responsible for them kept me focused. Hey babies, big, heartfelt thanks for all the Solar Return blessings. I like to think of birthdays as an awareness bell to cherish every moment…a chance to reflect and realize the beautiful lives we have led thus far. Some heavy shit along the way, for sure…some really dark, trillion ton nightmare-ish experiences which tend to contrast starkly against the (mostly, in my case) happy childhood lives we have led.

So father sun comes back around to the same spot it was on the day you were born every year you are alive. The day your mama swore for the first time (at least in my case , but that’s a maybe. Sorry, Mom, it’s okay to curse 😂). A chance to look at your people, look at your pets, you look at your body and cherish ALL OF IT. Because WOW. You are here!

We are grateful to be Alive and We are spreading Love. At least, that’s what my birthday mantra is at Solar Return #48. Keep living and loving, my friends. That’s my only birthday wish.

You left this earth on Tuesday. Telling our daughter was probably the most gut wrenching thing I may have ever done. I know how hard you struggled and was proud of you for making steps to heal. Our 14 year marriage was no cake walk as most everyone knows, but man, we had some really great times despite the madness. You introduced me to friends that I will have and cherish for life and beyond. I am grateful that we made peace in the last few years and were able to be open and vulnerable with one another. I am relieved that you are no longer struggling, that you are reunited with Chris, Kristen, Oma and so many others. You will always be my Cranky Frankie and will always be my first love, you ass. Dining in the Caymans NEVER disappoints…thanks to @instakent78 for the spot on recommendations! Calypso Grill and The Grand Old House blew us away. And countless others that I cannot recall. Just incredible. by @moonstruckmel
