We bet you didn’t know Najeau was named after Nina Kairouz’s mother. We didn’t either A few months ago, @herringbonesalon invited a few of us from Bauhaus Hair ( Shane, Emma, and Jenna) to a Scalp Masterclass with celebrity colorist and Najeau founder @ninakairouz. It was part technique, part history, part ritual. Nina shared the story behind Najeau — a brand built around family, heritage, and the belief that good hair starts at the root. At the center: cold-pressed Lebanese olive oil, sourced through Nina’s family connection to a 900-year-old monastery in Lebanon. Inspired by ancestral oiling traditions and developed with modern science, Najeau approaches hair from the root — focusing on scalp care, follicle health, and creating a healthier foundation for the hair we see. Form follows function. Root follows result. We left with a little more knowledge, more appreciation for the history of the ritual behind oiling hair, and a new perspective on what we put behind the chair. That’s the kind of education we’re here for.
