About last night…Still in shock and so full of gratitude!
What I thought was going to be a small anniversary dinner planned by my sister-in-law turned into one of the most beautiful surprises I could have imagined, a surprise proposal from my husband, followed by a vow renewal ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

She told me she wanted to do something nice since we’d be in town for our anniversary, and being the amazing event planner she is, she made it sound like it was just a dinner with close family. Little did I know, my husband had something much bigger planned. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him again, and we celebrated with a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

My husband knew exactly what he wanted, but he didn’t have a hand in the planning. My sister-in-law took the lead, along with help from my children. My aunt found and locked down the perfect venue all the way from out of town, and so many others came together to make this evening absolutely perfect!

One of the most meaningful parts for me, our Grand Sheik and his wife, who married us the first time, were there to renew our vows and bless us again.

I am still overwhelmed by the love and thoughtfulness that went into making this day so special. To everyone who had a hand in making this day happen, from the planning to just showing up and surrounding us with love, we are so deeply grateful.

I’ll remember this day for forever.

49 ❤️ Today isn’t just another birthday. It feels like the beginning of something different. The beginning of a new chapter, new beginnings, new experiences, and a new way of living.Not because I’m getting older, but because for the first time in my life, I truly feel like I’m stepping into ME. Most of my babies are grown now, and I’m realizing that it’s time to live. To laugh more. Travel more. Experience more. Take better care of myself. Try new things. Rediscover the woman underneath all the roles I’ve carried for so many years.I’ve spent most of my adult life attached to someone, caring for someone, building around someone, raising children, loving people, sacrificing, surviving, and doing what I thought I was supposed to do. I’ve experienced beautiful moments, but I’ve also experienced a lot of pain along the way. For so much of my adulthood I've poured into my children, my family, and everything around me. And while I wouldn’t change the life I’ve lived or the memories I’ve made, I can honestly say that I’m finally entering a season where I’m learning to pour back into ME. And somewhere in all of that, I never really got the opportunity to discover who Tia is when she isn’t defined by who she belongs to, who needs her, or what she has to carry. I think it’s finally time.Time to choose me.Time to find myself.Time to learn what makes me happy.Time to make decisions based on what Tia needs.Time to live a life that feels like mine.And the biggest thing I’m taking into this next chapter is this:I GOT ME.I don’t need to have everything figured out. I don’t need to know exactly what the next chapter looks like. I just know that I’m finally brave enough to turn the page.This past year challenged me in ways that tested me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but it also reminded me just how resilient I am.
