He bought this Plymouth Barracuda for $5,000 in 1983—with a Hemi—and has been racing it ever since.

Today it runs a 540-cubic-inch Hemi producing approximately 810–820 horsepower. Its personal best is 9.06 at 149 mph, and you’ll see it make a 9.86-second pass in this video.

This 1972 Plymouth Duster 340 has been a dedicated drag car since 1974—and it’s still racing today. 🏁

Found in southern Pennsylvania, this Duster reportedly hasn’t been driven on the street since 1974. Its current owner bought it because the gold car reminded him of the Duster he owned in high school.

It still runs a factory-based Stock Eliminator combination with a 340 engine, ThermoQuad carburetor, 904 transmission and factory rear end. According to the owner, it has previously run in the 10.90s.

1964 Plymouth HEMI | Nostalgia Super Stock
We documented a 1964 Plymouth HEMI originally campaigned by Lou Vigoli, now running the quarter-mile in the Nostalgia Super Stock class.

This is a mechanical breakdown of an 800 HP, 3,200 lb chassis. High track temperatures pushed the ET to 10.08, down from its 9.90 baseline. Off the hit, the car pulled a massive wheelie requiring an immediate lift, resulting in minor oil pan damage on the landing.

Induction: Era-legal Cross Ram Manifold, Dual 4-Barrel Carburetors

This old-school Mopar started life as a Slant Six street car before being transformed into a championship-winning drag car.

Watch four 1/8-mile races and meet the owner behind the build. He walks us through the custom 727 automatic, 4,200-rpm stall converter, 4.10-geared Dana rear end and footbrake racing setup.

The races shown are 1/8-mile passes, including a 6.42 at 107.21 mph. The Dart’s quarter-mile best is 9.16 at 130 mph.
