Recently, #MiCA leaders had the opportunity to present about RMCs (Regional Medical Campuses) at the AAMC in Columbus. The presentation was entitled: One School, Many Homes: Leveraging Distinct Campus Identities to Strengthen Medical Education and Regional Workforce Impact.

MiCA is tasked with recruiting, educating, and training the next generation of healthcare providers who will mirror the communities we serve. Yesterday, Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) welcomed U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and U.S. Representative Nikema Williams for Not a Moment-A Movement: The Future of Maternal Health Equity, a powerful convening led by Natalie D. Hernandez-Green, PhD, MPH and MSM's Center for Maternal Health Equity.

Together with MSM President and CEO Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, MiCA CAO Dr. Veronica Mallett, institutional leaders, e.g. Rick Kittles, PhD, researchers, students and community advocates, the discussion focused on the urgent need to advance maternal health equity and end preventable maternal deaths - particularly among Black women and underserved communities.

We are extremely proud to see national and local leaders standing in the gap for maternal health and providing a voice for those who may not have one!
