We are honored to welcome, for the first time, the outstanding coffee producer family Moreno Coffee @morenocoffeefarm from the highlands of Boquete, Panama. Rooted at the foot of the Barú Volcano, they cultivate exceptional specialty coffees with dedication and passion, nurtured by volcanic soils and rich biodiversity. Today, with great excitement, we bring these coffees, imbued with family memories and the soul of the land, to you.

Edilberto Moreno left his hometown of Boquete at the age of 14. He rode the bicycle his father had given him when he was eight, traveling four and a half hours over winding mountain roads to the city of David, seeking an uncertain but hopeful future. In the city he studied, worked, and spent many years in the car trade, yet he never let go of his deepest dream: to return one day to his land and become a coffee grower.

After years of discipline and effort, he finally made his way back. He returned to his origin, to his land, to his dream. Thirty‑eight years later, he still keeps that bicycle and still holds the dream of that young boy. He recovered the lands that once belonged to both his maternal and paternal families, and from that he built what is now Moreno Coffee Farm, a family project that brings together several estates, each with its own soul, altitude and climate, but all united by one purpose: to honour coffee, to respect the land, and to preserve their roots.

The estates, named ᴍᴏʀᴇɴᴏ, ꜱᴀɴᴅɪ, ᴜɴᴅᴇʀ ᴍᴏɴᴋᴇʏ ᴀɴᴅ ᴡɪʟᴅ ᴄᴏꜰꜰᴇᴇ ʀᴇꜱᴇʀᴠᴇ, surround the majestic Barú Volcano and form part of a natural corridor connected to La Amistad National Park. Here, volcanic soils and rich biodiversity create an ideal environment for high‑value, rare coffee varieties. The altitude slows and disciplines the ripening of the cherries, allowing for more complex sugars, higher bean density, and more refined, elegant specialty coffee flavours.

Before coffee reaches the roaster, it starts as a green bean, shaped by origin, variety, altitude, harvest, and processing.

At Cesar’s Coffee Cup, we work with green beans from different origins and roast with purpose here in Melbourne.

Because a better roast starts with a better foundation.
