Nostalgia.

I created a collage from old newspapers I found from my time in Kuwait. The dates, spanning from 2006 to 2023, showing evidence of the ongoing occupation of Palestine, a stark reminder that little has changed in our world. Still marred by ugliness, corruption, and injustice. The more I sifted through the articles, the more apparent it became that despite the passage of time, the cries for justice and dignity by Palestinians have largely gone unanswered for more than 70 years. Each article represents not just a moment in time but the countless lives impacted by Israel’s violence and oppression. As we mark almost a year since October 7th, it’s clear that silence persists, much like it has for years. Things have gotten even worse. My heart constantly hurts watching the daily videos of people and children getting murdered and their homes destroyed. My nightmares and heartache are nothing compared to what they have been living through this past year. I’ve lost my faith in humanity long ago, nothing is being done all we can do is watch and spread awareness. And while talking about these issues, sharing our stories, and boycotting will never be enough to bring back lost lives or rebuild shattered communities, these actions are our way of resisting. We will continue to fight with the tools we have, amplifying voices and seeking justice, because in this cruel world, every effort matters. The struggle for justice is ongoing, and it requires collective effort to confront these realities and work towards a future where peace and dignity are attainable for all. And may we live to see a free Palestine. by @moreofalienarchive
