6 months ago today I was relearning how to walk. Today, I am fully cleared and back to doing everything, pain free! Although my journey is not fully over, everything has gone by so fast and I am so glad to be back doing what I love. I am so thankful for my amazing physical therapist who has gotten me so far so fast, I would not have been able to do any of this without her. I’m also so grateful for this amazing community of friends, family, and coaches I have who have supported me and stuck by my side during my recovery. @rockwall_cheer @optimalgympt by @morgan.cheers_

this summer, i started experiencing some back pain. like most other gymnasts, i just ignored it and took some advil every once in a while to help with the pain. in june, this back pain turned into sharp hip pain, and it got pretty bad, but again, i just hoped it would go away and took some medicine for it. luckily, it went away for a while, but it came back in august. i finally told my parents that i think we should see a doctor about the back and hip pain (since the back pain had never fully gone away), and we went to see a doctor. this doctor ordered a MRI and found that i had a labral tear on my left hip. he said hips weren’t his specialty and he sent us somewhere else. this next doctor i saw told me to take some time off of my sports and let it heal on its own with some physical therapy, so we did. but when we went to physical therapy, the physical therapist said this tear wouldn’t heal without surgery, so he referred us to another doctor. this doctor told me that i had something called hip dysplasia, which was a condition i was born with that they never caught when i was little. he said that the surgery i needed to have was to big of a surgery for him to perform, and he referred us to dr. sucato at scottish rite. on january 9th, i finally had a surgery called a Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) which corrected my hip dysplasia and took the pressure off of my hip labrum. luckily, the surgery went perfect. after spending one night in the hospital, i am now at home and starting my recovery journey. i am so so thankful for my friends who have visited me in the hospital or at home. unfortunately, i won’t be able to compete this season and i will take about 6-12 months (approximately) to fully recover and get back to sports. thank you all so so much for your prayers, and please pray for a speedy recovery!! ❤️‍🩹 taken in Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic Hospital by @morgan.cheers_
