A week ago, I summitted Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the continental United States, at 14,505 feet tall. The hike was 16 miles roundtrip and had 4000 feet of ascent and 4000 feet of descent. This was one of the hardest hikes I have ever done, and my biggest challenges were breathing in high elevations and knee pain on the descent. We started at 4 am and the hike took us 14 hours, but the views were absolutely worth it! taken in Mount Whitney by @morgan.hikes

Two weeks ago, Owen and I hiked to three alpine lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado! We got to see so much wildlife including elk, two moose, lots of trout, pikas, and a marten. I took a little dive into Lake Haiyaha as well! This hike reminded me exactly how much I love the mountains, and I hope to get the opportunity to come back here again soon! taken in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado by @morgan.hikes

On Friday, Owen and I hiked a few trails during sunset at Mount Falcon Park in Morrison, Colorado. This was our first hike to kick off our Labor Day Weekend in the Denver area! The highlight of our trip was seeing a mom and baby mule deer! taken in Mount Falcon Park by @morgan.hikes

Yesterday Lorelei, Owen, and I hiked the dune climb at Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was 3.5 miles roundtrip up and down sand dunes and the out and back trail lead down to Lake Michigan. Our biggest challenge was how hot the sand got during midday, and we quickly learned that afternoon hikes require a lot more water than we originally packed! taken in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore by @morgan.hikes

This past week, I went on a hike at Blandford Nature Center with Owen and his mom for his birthday. There were lots of flowers in full bloom and trees to hug which was my favorite part! taken in Blandford Nature Center by @morgan.hikes

A little over two weeks ago, I went on my last hike in Ireland on Great Saltee Island. I took over six hours of public transport along with a ferry over to the island to get here. This was such a bittersweet hike for me, and I already miss hiking in Ireland already. One of my goals while studying abroad was to see a puffin and on this hike, I finally got to do that! Along the trail, I passed a puffin colony, gannet colony, cormorants, and guillemots. I'm so grateful for all of the hikes I got the chance to experience over the last few months and all the wildlife I was so blessed to see! Living in Ireland for 4.5 months was truly one of the most special experiences of my lifetime so far, and I am so thankful for every single memory I got the privilege of experiencing over the last few months. If you've ever wanted to travel solo, this is your sign to do it! The world is a lot less scarier than you think, and you are so much more capable than you even know:) by @morgan.hikes

Yesterday I hiked the Glen Beach Cliff Walk in Wicklow as one of my last hikes in Ireland😢 It was such a bittersweet hike, knowing it's one of my last here before returning home, but it was an incredible one! I got very lucky and spotted lots of gray seals swimming off the coast, and I got to sit and watch them for an hour. taken in Glen Turn Cliff Walk by @morgan.hikes

A week ago, Owen and I hiked out to Dunmore Head, the most westerly point in Ireland. This was one of the most scenic and also scary hikes I've ever done, with the trail right along the cliffs. Our biggest challenge was fighting the wind which at times we could barely walk in, but the bright blue water made up for it! taken in Dunmore Head by @morgan.hikes

Two days ago, Owen and I hiked up Mount Tonegalee to see Lough Ouler which is Ireland's only heart shaped lake. This has been on my bucket list for a long time, and it was so exciting to get to actually see the lake together! The trails were super muddy and the wind was strong, but it was so worth it to see the view at the top. taken in Lough Ouler by @morgan.hikes
