This winter in Baja was amazing in so many ways, but this process of catching, printing and cooking fresh fish quickly became my favorite way to spend my time. I’m excited to share the art with you on here

Last year my brother and i took a trip to the grand canyon (my first time, his second) i remember hangin out the window, yelling in awe and him cracking up as he drove us in. We hiked part of the Rim to Rim and I remember telling myself I’d love to come back to this magical place (maybe do the whole damn thing one day!?!)

Fast forward a year and change later! My friends got a permit to raft down thru the canyon and somehow i was lucky enough to get an invite. So stoked!!! Headed out to hike 8 miles into the canyon to meet my friends and we’ll spend the next few weeks comin down the colorado!!! ❤️❤️ Much love by @morgandecanio

my niece just asked me if this pic was from the congo basin by @morgandecanio

Earlier this summer I started experimenting with cyanotypes, I really like the analog process behind it and I wanted to figure out some sort of cross section between cyanotypes x my gyotaku prints.

It’s also a fun splash of color as an alternative to my typical black/white/traditional type Gyotaku art

I was really excited with the way this one came out (as you can probably tell 🤣). What do you think? #gyotaku #cyanotype #japaneseart by @morgandecanio

We saw them setting up for Suikawari which I instantly recognized from seeing film photos Minoru San would show me of my mom, uncle and their family playing on these same beaches growing up

As mom and Hiroko reminisced, I went down to the water to take some photographs of an old sailboat lifeguard stand. I come back, and one of the Japanese National Rugby coaches hands me the blindfold and bat and says I got to start it off 🤣 (it turns out they had got to talking and my mom mentioned she grew up here and used to play this, he asked if she wanted to do it and she volunteered me up)

No questions asked I got suited up and followed their prompts and got to smash the watermelon. We stayed around and had the best time ever. Thanks to this crew!!!

Lately I’ve been looking back at a lot of the pictures and videos I’ve taken from my travels. Most of them end up getting buried, but when I take the time to look back I’m always so glad I have them.

The first video was taken after a long few days driving from east to west all alone, ending up in the Grand Tetons and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I didn’t know a single person living in a van or any way similar to the life I set out for

The second video was taken after living in my van (actually I ditched the old tiny van, and built out a home of my own, one I could actually stand in) for a few months in Mexico surrounded by some of my best friends. Some of which truly feel like family. Couldn’t be more grateful
