If you made it to the end, I’m really glad you’re here.🤎 by @morganellis

I don’t spend sessions chasing eye contact.
I spend them chasing connection.
If you love photographs that feel like memories instead of poses, you’re in the right place.

Follow along for more moments like these.

Big fan of this year’s Halloween theme.🎃🤎

Do your littles like Little Bear too?

An evening on Grapevine Lake with the sweetest family of four.

I met this mama through a shared playgroup, and she’s truly one of the most loving moms I know. She juggles so much and does it all with so much grace. I was really honored to get to photograph her and her people. 🤎

The way your family fits together right now. The personalities, the closeness, the love that doesn’t need to be directed.

Years from now, these are the photographs that will take you right back. Not just to what this season looked like, but what it felt like. 🤎

Family photography for the beautifully imperfect, wonderfully ordinary days you’ll wish you could revisit.

The fall issue of @heartfulmagazine just dropped! So many of the moments within these pages absolutely took my breath away. What an absolutely inspiring collection of imagery @brookebschultz and her team have curated here. There are moments of motherhood, family life, strength, calm, chaos, and the joy that comes with raising littles, all of it captured so beautifully and so DIFFERENTLY by each artist.

Truly some extraordinary talents within these pages and I am humbled to have two of my images featured among them.

Photographer or not, if you’re a parent, this entire magazine is worth feasting your eyeballs upon. Head to their bio for the digital version, or you can comment PRINT26 on any of @heartfulmagazines posts to order your printed copy.🤎

One day, she’ll tell her little sister,
“We grew up here.”
She’ll point to these fields and tell her all about where she learned to run barefoot. The place her parents chose to build their forever home. Where life first felt safe.

There is something so special about photographing families in places that already mean something to them.

Years from now, these photographs won’t just remind them how tiny she was or how excited big sister was to hold her.

They’ll remember this land before the house was built. They’ll remember what it felt like to stand in an empty field and imagine the life they were about to create here.

One day, the house your dreamt into reality will be finished. The trees will be taller. The children will be grown.
But these photographs will always be a way back to where it all began.

I love fall family photos. Like, really love them.

The softer landscapes. The golden light. The tiny bit of relief in the air after a Texas summer. Even the earlier sunsets that mean we can make something beautiful and still get your babies home to bed at a reasonable hour.

But I don’t want to rush any of it.

You already did the work to get everyone here. You chose the outfits, dressed the kids, fixed the hair, wiped the faces, found the missing shoe, planned around naps and snacks and somehow got your whole family out the door.

When you get to me, I don’t want you watching the clock.

I don’t want your kids to feel like they need to warm up, cooperate, smile, and be done because we have a schedule to keep and another family about to walk up. I don’t want to see how quickly I can get the shot. I want to see what happens when we give your family enough time to forget about the photos altogether.

Time for your kids to decide they like me. To wander off and investigate something. To need a minute with Mom. To be silly, shy, wild, clingy, curious, completely themselves.

You already notice it all. The way they’re changing. The things they do that you know they won’t do forever. I want to give you the space to simply be there with them, while I pay attention to everything you’ll want to remember.

We’ll make the beautiful photo where everyone is together. But we’ll also make the ones you couldn’t have planned.

The way she reaches for you. His belly laugh. The little hand wrapped around your finger. The look your spouse gives the people you made together. All the tiny things happening right now that will change before you know it.

That’s how I photograph families all year long, and fall is no different.

So yes, pick your Christmas card photo from your gallery. Pick three.

But let’s make the rest for you.

Fall has been booking for a while now, and October–December availability is getting slim. If family photos have been on your mind this year, now’s the time. 🤎

The last weeks of waiting.

There is so much beauty in the wonder, the anticipation, the quiet knowing that everything is about to change.

Standing at the edge of a life you haven’t met yet.

Every mama deserves photos that remind her what this season felt like, not just what it looked like.

These are five moments I find myself coming back to over and over again. The ones that only become more meaningful as the years pass.

Save this for your next family session, or send it to a mama who deserves to be in more of the photos.

Backyard stories are quickly becoming some of my favorite to tell.

I know Fall is on our minds and planning is in full swing, but it’s 105° in Texas today, so there’s still plenty of time to have your family captured this way before summer slips away and the kids are another year older.

If you make it all the way to the last photo, you get the privilege of seeing a photo bombing corgi butt. You’re welcome.🤎

If you let your kids plan your family photos this year, what do you think they would look like?👀

Where would you go? What activities would your family share? What would they insist on bringing along?

I have a feeling the answers would make for some pretty memorable photos.
