POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today you meet Tyler. I am so excited to share more on the story between Kelsey and him. He was an interesting character to write and I hope you all see the good in him. As with my post about Kelsey, the song used is a huge hint at his personality and role in the story. Remember Friday is the title reveal. by @morganhartauthor

Meet Kelsey, the main character of my novel. I purposefully did not describe my characters so character art isn’t an option, but a mood board felt like a good way for you to meet her. She’s a teacher, she’s 26 when the book begins, and oh boy she is naive. The song I’ve chosen also describes her well. I will share another mood board Wednesday and then Friday is the title reveal. There were some great guesses, and there’s still time to get your guess in. by @morganhartauthor

Every good story starts with a playlist. These are the songs that inspired my upcoming novel. #bookstagram #contemporaryfiction #womensfiction by @morganhartauthor

I always post about my writing, but never what I’m reading. This isn’t normally a go-to read for me, but I’m in a book club with some coworkers and I’m loving this. It’s a borrowed copy so I’m reading it faster than normal, but it’s also a very quick and easy read. I got it yesterday afternoon and I’m almost halfway done. I also forgot how much I love holding a book. Yes, I love Kindle telling me how long the chapter is or how long I have left in the whole book, but there is something about curling up with a paperback instead of curling up with a device. by @morganhartauthor

Here is the dedication for my debut. A dedication really does help me get in the mindset I need for reading, so I’m hoping mine can do the same for others. by @morganhartauthor

Sorry I’ve been gone for a bit. Work is kicking my butt. I thought I’d talk a little about why I actually started writing my novel. It is something that happened to me and I was basically just keeping a journal of what happened, but in story form. Then one day The Manuscript just hit different and I got serious about turning my life into a book. The mixed signals, the feeling that I was making it up in my mind, I had to find a way to make sense of it and that led to Not a Love Story. My other ideas have also been based on songs. Music is my inspiration for everything. I’m curious how you all came up with your ideas. by @morganhartauthor

I always check out the dedication to a book. It sets the mood for me and gives me an idea into the author’s mindset. It’s actually more important to me than the blurb sometimes. by @morganhartauthor

Excuse me while I listen to these all day and probably come up with 12 more book ideas. We are all just looking for our Cleveland! Taylor Swift never fails to amaze me. I think she has an important message here: finding and loving your person doesn’t mean the past quit hurting by @morganhartauthor

Just me wondering when my beta readers will be done. At least watching Chiefs games gives me a few hours of distraction. Last night was too close! Even I wouldn’t make my characters go through that much stress. by @morganhartauthor

Here we are! Happy Friday all! Title reveal day. I’m so excited to quit calling it “my novel” and start calling it by its title. Congrats to @c.l.childs_author who guessed it right last week. Everyone’s guesses were so good though and some of you were close. by @morganhartauthor
