Tomorrow, I’ll officially become Dr. Morgan Banks, graduating Summa cum laude. 🥹 It still feels surreal to say that I’m now a veterinarian.

I’m beyond grateful for my family—especially my parents—for their unwavering love and support ❤️ They believed in me every step of the way and always knew I was capable of great things.

This moment means everything to me. I’m proud to be the first doctor in my family, and even prouder of the person I’ve become along the journey. I’ve truly turned my childhood dreams into reality 🐾🫶🏾

My first time in Tuskegee’s small animal clinic was in Spring 2020 through the VCAP program as a Sophomore. I was still learning my way around the clinic, shadowing the 4th years, and at that time “truly living the dream”. 🥹

I am grateful to Tuskegee for guiding me to my dreams. This clinic has truly taught me to make something out of nothing and always trust your instincts! Every professor/clinician has left an amazing impact on my life and I’ll never forget that. ✨

Oh Mother Tuskegee,

It’s hard to believe that my chapter here is slowly coming to an end. From undergrad to now, I’ve spent 8 incredible years here. When I reflect on my growth and the countless opportunities Tuskegee has given me, I know without a doubt that I would do it all over again.

Tuskegee has truly shaped me into the woman I am today, and I am beyond grateful. ❤️ Veterinary school tested my faith in ways I never imagined, but I made it through. With the support of my family, my friends (especially MMPR 🥹), and my village, all of this was possible.

I arrived at Tuskegee as Morgan Banks—the cheerleader and aspiring veterinarian. In just 7 days, I will walk across the stage as Dr. Morgan Banks, a veterinarian. I am so excited to see what this next chapter holds. ✨👩🏾‍⚕️

But God…

This was a journey only God knew I could face. A journey only God knew I could handle. It taught me to put all of my faith and trust in Him. And knowing that at the end of it all, there was a TRIUMPH of Faith and God NEVER forgot about me! ❤️

I am so in awe at myself and truly at the strength and love of God himself. All of the tears, long nights, 4 years of preparation, and constant studying all brought me to this very point. Consistently motivating and telling myself that I’m almost there. I thank my family and my village for the encouragement and support, it was truly unmatched! 🥹 They reminded me that my gift has already started making room for me, way before now.

This was the win that I’ve longed for. The win that I’ve worked so hard and cried so much over. Remembering that “I’m entering a season where everything that could go right, WILL go right!” ✨

To all of my colleagues, remember that your journey is no where close to anyone else’s journey. 🫶🏾 Because sometimes God says “… not right now.” And NEVER apologize for taking up space!

All that to say… Dr. Banks is officially licensed! Post-graduation I will be completing a Small Animal Rotating Internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital 💙

Quarter of a Century and still a limited edition 🤎
