POSTS STORIES REELS

Having read Octavia Butler’s short story masterpiece ‘the evening and the morning and the night’, I wanted to talk about predisposition vs fate, ptsd & undocumented diabetes affecting mood swings. A friend at work the other day said “it’s a miracle you are alive.” I always knew that- being a cptsd survivor, a former teen hard/YA narcotics addict, a lifelong alcoholic, a mostly lifelong closeted non binary/pansexual and someone with occasional bouts of manic depression. And a lot of situational based “bruises”. Thank god for my old UCCC comparative religions class, my suny Albany gender studies and post modernism courses and helpful care. I also absorb a lot of other people’s anxiety which is why it is pretty insane that I have a customer service gig and absolutely great that I have a live band again to shout at the devil, get the aggro out- so to speak. It is also a huge relief to finally be over half a decade sober from alcohol and weed and 27/26 years since I did a rail of coke or heroin off of anyone’s body parts. Upon learning in 2020 that I was type 1 diabetic - which is really dumb because my dad had it, but it was overshadowed by his years battle w cancer- a lot made sense in hindsight. I guess I am just saying I love you all and am thankful for the grace given after a life full of a lot of rocky moments amidst the really awesome stuff or good I have done. Sorry if I ever hurt you. Also maladaptive poor coping skills or choices along the way while trying to find bearings. Times I have been super manic or a trainwreck. Often lots of fun and productive/high function regardless, but wrestling huge mood swings and dysphoria waves or disordered eating, sorrow drowning compulsion/not always understanding why I couldn’t fill the hole. Mental health work and emotional healing or regulation mechanism building takes practice and it’s also hard in a capitalistic world that delights in cruelty and hierarchy/harm perpetuation or ego. I also am not like blaming genetics for every shit thing I’ve ever done or my artistic yet alcohol struggling dad who had a lot of his own youthful trauma as a post WW2 immigrant. It’s just all very clarifying. Let’s build! by @morganyevans

Very disappointed in multiple members of the Iron Roses, a band who I championed, loved and supported and at one point found comfort in the music of. Now blocked by, which I hear is a pattern with them. Pathetic. The music industry new strategy of skipping away from any discourse around accountability by just causally blocking people - especially lifer punks ! - is really fucking naive. This is what I wrote on Becky Fontaine’s wall yesterday that got me blocked in regards to Natasha blocking me after Copmala lost (Nat, who some of you also know from @boysetsfireofficial - a band that sharing the stage with years ago was one of the highlights of my life and who sang PROTEST IS PATRIOTISM). Elon literally fucked w the election and yall have a name iron roses that literally sounds leftist af but you are out here blue maga bopping, ignoring the injustices that happened to @nancpantz and trying to curate reality now? No wonder you didn’t want to speak out against Radke since you had the same publicist. 🤮 #punk #ironroses #boysetsfire #transrights #peaceandfreedom by @morganyevans

This year’s pumpkin 🎃 had a cool scar on it, so I made it into a part of the face. Here is Olive inspecting it with impeccably suitable black cat vibes. Happy Halloween! 👻 💕 🦇 🐈‍⬛ by @morganyevans
