The Morrigan’s Mixtures operates as a devotional apothecary rooted in Irish pagan tradition, plant spirit medicine, and ancestral reverence.

This plant is commonly known as the Ghost Plant or Mother of Pearl Plant. Its botanical name is Graptopetalum paraguayense.

You can see the Mother plant in the last 2 photos. I've propergated these volunteer babies and they are maturing nicely. They are just planted into soil and have an established root system and should take to the soil well.

I have an upcoming market @thecrookedpath_la in late November. You'll see these little babies there.

111 days. 🌿

On April 20th, I began this botanical infusion with calendula and chamomile flowers, olive oil, and pumpkin seed oil.

Then I did something that can be surprisingly difficult in a world accustomed to instant results:

I waited.

For 111 days, the botanicals remained submerged in oil, slowly creating the foundation for whatever this batch would eventually become.

On August 9th, it was finally time to strain it.

And then strain it again.

And again. 😂

Chamomile breaks down into incredibly fine particles during a long infusion, so this batch required three separate strainings before I was satisfied that the plant material had been removed.

What remained was this beautiful, deeply colored botanical oil—and it smells wonderful.

Throughout those 111 days, the jar also sat with Nephrite Jade, which I chose as part of my personal energetic practice. Jade has long been associated symbolically with harmony, protection, prosperity and balance. For me, it became part of the intention surrounding the making of this particular batch.

The botanical extraction and the energetic practice are two different parts of my craft, but both are part of how I work.

And now this oil is finally ready for its next transformation.

Some will likely become the next evolution of Lanternlight Balm, with lavender, rosemary and bergamot.

And I've been considering turning another portion into a small-batch botanical body scrub.

I haven't completely decided yet.

For now, I'm appreciating what 111 days of patience created.

Quality takes time.
The plants aren't in a hurry.
Neither should the apothecary be. 🌿

One of the reasons I enjoy tea so much is that it naturally encourages me to slow down for a few minutes. That pause, combined with hydration and the beneficial compounds found in tea, becomes part of my daily wellness routine.

I usually sweeten my tea with a small amount of raw local honey instead of refined sugar, creating a simple ritual that supports both enjoyment and well-being.

Sometimes the healthiest habits aren't complicated.

They're the ones you can enjoy consistently for years.

Featured here are:

Veilfire (seasonal) - A warm spiced blend of English black tea, Rooibos, cinnamon, clove, orange peel and rose rich, cozy and layered with the flavors of late summer, turning toward autumn.

Empress Heart Nectar tea - A comforting botanical blend crafted to encourage self care, compassion and gentle reflection., Floral, calming and perfect for those moments when your heart needs tending.

I brewed up Empress so you could see the rich color it turns.
DM me for purchasing. $24 each.

Fresh from the garden and gathered by hand.

Today’s tea was made with fresh mullein leaf gathered here in Idaho, along with raspberry leaf, blackberry leaf, and mint from my family’s garden.

There is something deeply grounding about working with plants this close to their source, harvesting them, washing each leaf, noticing its texture and scent, and watching the water slowly take on their color.

This blend created a beautifully earthy, green infusion with the berry leaves bringing a gentle astringency, the mullein adding softness, and the mint lifting everything with a fresh, cooling finish.

Traditionally, these plants have been valued for different forms of support:

🌿 Mullein leaf — traditionally used in soothing respiratory preparations
🌿 Raspberry leaf — a mineral-rich, toning and gently astringent herb
🌿 Blackberry leaf — traditionally appreciated for its tannins and grounding quality
🌿 Mint — cooling, aromatic, and supportive to digestion

Because mullein leaves are covered in tiny natural hairs, I strained the finished infusion very carefully before drinking it.

This is one of my favorite parts of herbalism: remembering that medicine does not always begin inside a bottle or a package. Sometimes it begins in the garden, with wet leaves spread across a kitchen towel and a kettle beginning to sing.

From the garden, through the hands, and into the cup.

#FreshHerbs #GardenTea #HerbalTea #herbalism #herbalapothecary

For one generous mug, I would start gently:

½ small fresh mullein leaf, torn

1 raspberry leaf

1 blackberry leaf

4–6 mint leaves

10–12 ounces just-boiled water

Cover and steep for about 10–12 minutes. by @morrigans_mixtures

Some things simply can't be rushed.

Back in April, I filled this jar with olive oil, pumpkin seed oil, calendula flowers, and chamomile blossoms. Then I tucked it away and let time do what it does best.
For months this oil has slowly drawn out the color, scent, and botanical properties of the dried herbs. No shortcuts. No heat extraction. Just patience.

As part of the process, I chose to rest the jar beside a piece of Nephrite Jade, a stone long associated with harmony, abundance, protection and gentle healing. Traditionally, jade has symbolized balance between the physical and spiritual worlds, making it a fitting companion for an oil intended to nourish both body and ritual.

Every batch I make teaches me something. This one feels especially calming, soft, earthy, and rooted.

I'm still deciding what it wants to become.
Perhaps it will become the next evolution of Lanternlight Balm, carrying the warmth of calendula and chamomile into a richer salve. Or perhaps it will become a botanical salt scrub designed to help wash away the heaviness of the day.

Either way, this is what my apothecary looks like behind the scenes.
Not everything is made in an afternoon,
Sometimes the best medicine asks us to slow down.

Emotions Live in the Body

As a massage therapist, I've spent over 20 years watching emotions show up physically in the body. Stress settles into the shoulders and neck, anxiety often affects breathing and digestion, and grief can leave people feeling exhausted, tense, and disconnected from themselves.

While I've understood this professionally for years, losing my mother gave me a much deeper personal understanding of how profoundly grief affects both the mind and body.

We often think of grief as sadness, but grief is a full-body experience. The nervous system, digestive system, sleep cycle, immune system, and even our ability to think clearly can all be affected.

One of the first places many people notice grief is in their digestion. Stress and loss can disrupt normal digestive function, leading to stomach discomfort, nausea, appetite changes, or digestive upset. The body doesn't always distinguish between emotional and physical stress.

Sleep is another common casualty. Many grieving people struggle to fall asleep, stay asleep, or wake feeling rested. The mind races while the body remains stuck in a heightened state of alertness.

Anxiety often accompanies loss. Grief can make the world feel less predictable, creating tension, restlessness, shallow breathing, muscle tightness, and difficulty relaxing.

Then there is what many people call "grief brain." This was one of the symptoms that surprised me most. I've experienced brain fog, forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, and moments where my thoughts simply felt slower than normal.

Grief brain is common during bereavement. The brain is processing emotional information while adapting to a new reality.

The important thing to remember is that these reactions are not signs of weakness. They are signs that the body is responding to a profound experience.

Our emotions live in the body. Grief, stress, fear, and anxiety are not only emotional experiences—they are physical ones as well.

May was fun! I did the 1/2 way to Halloween event and @theaftermathbar Spring Splash.

I learned a lot about what people are seeking along their journey. It doesn't matter if they are on a spiritual path with God or the Goddess or just curious in general or looking for connection to a better self. Everyone who chose one of my offerings to take home felt a connection to it and called to make use of it. I'm deeply grateful for holding that space for them to explore. I had some lovely conversations along the way.

I created a new product, my threshold black salts. I have a very limited quantity of it until I can make more.

Here is most of my process making witches black salts. I only filmed some of the ingredients used.

Full list:
White sage, bay leaf, black peppercorns, frankincense, myrrh, copal, rue, sandalwood powder, rosemary, snake skin, juniper berries, temple blend incense, sacred tobacco plant, course sea salt, my incense ash I've been saving, and activated charcoal.

This is not a fast process. This took me a little over 2hrs. While I wait for things to burn, I do meditation and intention energy work that I put into it while I hold space for this creation process. I give thanks for the plants and resins I use in the making and thank my snake for allowing some of her energy to go into it as well.

You absolutely don't have to use all of these ingredients to make your own black salts. I have a good stock of these things on hand and felt called to add them in.

It's useful for hex breaking, protection work, banishment, it will cleanse your space, it absorbs negative energy, enhances ritual work - especially for protection purposes. It has many other uses. It all depends on your intentions.

Veilfire

A blend created for the in-between.

That moment where something is ending..
and something else hasn't quite begun.

Black tea and rooibos form the base. It's
grounding, and steady.
Layered with cinnamon, clove, orange peel,
and rose to bring warmth, movement, and a quiet
opening.

This is not a rush forward into it kind of tea.
It's a sit-with-it kind.

Sip slowly and step through.

Veilfire Blend

A small seasonal batch made for the turning of the season. This blend is technically for Samhain, but I'm vending at a 1/2 way to Halloween event soon and thought this would be perfect.

Warm, grounding, and softly spiced.
This is something to reach for in quieter moments of reflection, release, and intention.

Only a few jars made for this run.
