For the time being, I will be suspending operations as a maker, focusing on family, friends, summer fun, and a new “real job” for a while. Making packs and being involved with the community has been an incredible journey. Working with folks visions and needs. Getting feedback, making corrections. It all inspired me and made it worth the lonely hrs on the machine. But I’m slipping on not being able to complete orders. And I never wanted to take on more than I can handle. I’ve reached a point where I can’t supply the demand.
I’ll be around still. The shop will be setup. But I’m going to be WAY more obligated to turn down work. Wish I could do it all. But the candle does get burnt at both ends sometimes.
Thank you to all that have supported this adventure.
Check in soon. 🍻 taken in Negaunee Township, Michigan by @morrow_packs

Self care is necessary too.

Looking forward to a fresh setup on the Japhy for this years bikepack trips. First up will be the crystal bear. Did this one back in ‘22 and it hurt. I cut corners to make the ride easier on me the second day.
Day 1- 109 miles 99 actual
Day 2- 89 miles 67 actual
My legs won’t be as ready but my setup will be way more dialed than the first go.

Using this one to set a fire for as many little overnighter as I can this spring, summer and fall. taken in Negaunee Township, Michigan by @morrow_packs

Took a turn around the sun with the shop venture.
Wasn’t able to produce the volume to profit.
It’s bitter sweet but well worth the gamble.
I proved to myself that I can do more.
I was able to dial in the craft more than ever.
Met many fine folks through the front door.
And a few in the side door looking for the rack 🤣
I appreciate all the support from friends, family, customers, bike shops, breweries.
But most of all my neighbors.
The crew at @sportsrackmqt was a huge part of why I even tried this. I thought it would be sweet to try and they did too. Sometimes we all need that little nudge off the drop.
But seriously. I’m going to miss strolling in next door to chat about literally anything. And thank you for all of your good vibes and motivation.
I’m gonna miss you downtown Marquette.

*Also. Just the store is done. I’ll be doing business as usual.
So please hit me up with any customs or even retail requests. taken in Marquette, Michigan by @morrow_packs

Shane makes his own stuff. I make my own stuff.
We put those stuff’s together.
Cool stuff that was made. By the hands.

The Arizona Trail Race. The longest singletrack bike race in the world. The most spectacularly beautiful bike race in the world. The final race of the Triple Crown. There are many ways to describe the AZTR800. I don’t know if any of my words can quite describe the monster known as the Arizona Trail Race, but I am going to throw my experience out there.
The Arizona Trail is in my blood and I can’t seem to stay away from this brutally beautiful trail that traverses this incredibly diverse and jaw dropping landscape. The trail is HARD, and that is the addiction to making this pilgrimage across Arizona. It will change you. It will bring out the best version of you every time you go back to it. It will always be there, waiting for you to come back and show the monster what you’ve got. Hard things lead to self discovery. Self discovery creates growth. Taking on hard things is part of life.
Why do we do hard things? It’s a question I often find myself asking. Everyone’s reason is different. You have to take bad situations, bad luck, disappointments, times that you fall over, and take all of it and turn it into forward momentum- positive energy. It will get you through everything, it is part of life.
I feel alive on the Trail. There’s nothing more real than being out there and facing everything the monster throws at you. It’s the addiction to living that fuels the soul and body. The constant challenge that brings out the best in you. Take the hits and keep on going. Life is hard, and there’s nothing more real than your relationship with the trail. So get out there and live, live out that relationship to the best of your abilities. The Arizona Trail Race is a breath of life into the brutal and hard world we live in.
This trail is embedded in my soul and we all bleed for it. We are so lucky in Arizona to have it and let’s do all we can to protect it. It is one of a kind in this world. From torn sidewalls to death mud in the 2025 edition, I am still here, the AZTR800 will always be there, waiting for the next best version of myself to face the monster.
