says… this is a wave of consequence…it’s hard to get out…it’s hard to get in…you almost always get caught….I’ve had so many severe beatings here….as well as memorable experiences…the backdrop is exquisite when you’re out there alone you really feel the tranquility and beauty of nature…my first trip to Bali in 2002, I surfed here several times…I fell in love with this wave…once I started coming back every dry season, I always came straight here…then in 2007 I came for an extended stay, that lasted 10 years….we had it sewn up back then…we were not very welcoming, groups of 3 or more and bad behavior were not tolerated…it was the “grumpy old guy” spot…I’ve sat out here for thousands of hours on my own or with a couple buddies…I’ve definitely put my 10,000 hours in out here at this spot…does that make me an expert….hell no…a local?…absolutely not…I get no accolades….no two waves are usually ever the same, one is fat…the next one steep and hollow…since covid our tranquil spot is now overrun, groups of 4 and 5, surf schools g-strings and all the rest of it…this knucklehead featured above @morry58 sits the deepest and furthest out and pics off the bombs….when it’s big, sitting next to him is spooky…I happened to catch his last wave in the other day…
