First charter Glide bait calico

Saw lots of short calicos come over from the bow. Put down the iron and tried for calicos near some kelp with a @swimbait_republic glideway 176. Visual bites are the best and calicos can be so aggressive, its fun to watch.

Three-way Shootout Competition but I only use the surface iron.

All my bites were at the beginning of my retrieve. If you couldn't cast far with the iron, you weren't getting them.

PB Alert 🚨 & took 3rd 🥉
@westernoutdoornews hosted a shootout event with all three boats from @gailforce_triton_sportfishing @l.a.waterfrontsportfishing competing against eachother. I took 3rd place chucking a @meekster_irons all day. Hooked and landed all 3 on the iron.

And yes, I turned in my reel in to get serviced

Dont stop winding
Even at the surface he smacked it, then proceeds to take a couple more tries till I finally hooked it. In deep clear water this was an epic visual bite and we both got to see it.

Got a few compliments on the pliers I like from some of the deckhands of the Legend. The @baitslingersfishing finished Angle-R Ergonomic pliers are smooth and don't get unaligned or bind and feel natural in the hand especially after the wrap. 🦾

I could hear people say, "look at that jig," but I didn't know what they meant. Even as I was unhooking the jig I didn't see it bent. You can straighten it out but decided to keep it as a "war trophy." @youngstackle is where I get all my tuna jigs, pre rigged, and ready to fish. Thanks to Nick & Kevin for helping me out. 🤙

I never use live bait for yellows, and the challenge has taught me so much and learning from the locals is very fun too. Bouncing this thing in at the island on a beautiful day with your friends, makes the experience that much more rewarding.
