One thing about me? I will enroll in a mentorship program. No matter how much knowledge I have gained in my field, you will see me in a mentorship program. I’m a mid-level designer, and new knowledge will always appeal to me. Since 2023, I have made it a duty to enroll in at least one mentorship program yearly. This year was for @forcreativegirls I applied last year but didn’t get a word back, and I’m glad I got to experience it this year. Here is a glimpse into my final project. The assignment was to design a cereal packaging using a mascot as the main design element. I was also tasked to illustrate hands. Creating these illustrations helped to practice all I learnt during my sessions with @lizogunoye as my mentor. My goal in this mentorship was to sharpen my illustration skills (especially hands and hand poses). I’m so excited to work on the case study and release it next year. The FLEDGE branding stretched me, but it was worth it. I really wanted to pour my heart into it regardless and it opened me up in ways I didn’t even know was possible. The choices I made for every detail in the brand system were intentional and deserving of the core of what Fledge stands for. I am looking forward to the digital product launching soon! Branding Ebun was one of those projects that gave me the liberty to become something I had shied away from for so long: ‘an illustrator.’ And while I still don’t consider myself one, I enjoyed creating freely without restrictions. I had so much fun making beautiful messes with the greeting cards and hoped they worked, and they did! There’s so much more to see from them. I’m working with the lovely brand owner to create subsequent designs for occasions and just because. So if you’re in Europe or the USA, shop cheeky greeting cards from @ebuncards Trust me, you have hardly seen designs like theirs in proximity. Still on my week one assignments in the FCG program. The task was to illustrate portraits and full poses. I reimagined Sísí Àdùké and I honestly enjoyed playing around with her hair and accessories, even the change in outfit color and skin tone was refreshing for me. Then I illustrated two full poses of chic women, I wanted them to be distinct in outfit choice and accessorizing. What do you guys think?
