The most refreshing night and morning

I’m still learning watercolors, but there is something so sacred about sitting in stillness, painting and worshipping.

As I was painting I noticed that these two flowers weren’t exactly the same nor could I make them the same. They’re similar, but not identical. Each one carried its own little details, its own shape, its own beauty

And then I thought about how beautifully the Lord does the same with us!!!!

He never asked us to become one another.
He never asked us to bloom the same way.

He painted each of us with intention

“Consider the lilies, how they grow…” — Luke 12:27

The lilies don’t strive to become lilies.
They don’t worry about how they will bloom.
They don’t question whether they are growing fast enough

They simply just grow.

And in the time the Lord gives them, they bloom into exactly what He created them to be

Maybe we’re just meant to live a little more like the lilies

Why worry about what we will wear?
Why worry about how we will become who God is calling us to be?
Why compare our growth to someone else’s?

What if becoming who He created us to be isn’t about striving at all

What if it’s simply about staying close to Him?

Seeking His face.
Surrendering our plans.
Trusting His timing.
Following where He leads.

The Lord already knows the woman you’re becoming.
He already knows the man you’re becoming.

We don’t have to strive to become someone He will love or approve of. We can just seek His face, surrender our lives to Him, and trust His process.

The lilies don’t worry about becoming lilies

They simply grow.

And eventually, they bloom by @mosartjournal

a sketch before the sun goes down

I cannot express how much I love the lakefront and getting to watch everyone come together to take a picture of the sun and just taking time in His creation.
Kids running around, people riding bikes, going on walks, hanging out with each other, hanging with family, or just sitting and taking it all in. Even as I sit here and sketch, the golden rays shining through the trees remind me of the glory surrounding his throne. Forever my favorite place by @mosartjournal

art in all forms

I could talk on and on about the beach forever. The beauty in every turn you take. The fishermen enjoying their time by the ocean. The kids eating sand and throwing it everywhere. The freedom to just be. The families, the ones who come alone, the ones with friends. Everyone with different stories. Everyone coming to the beach for different reasons. The stillness of the ocean and the seagulls yapping around you. Something about it being so peaceful where I can be still in the presence of the Lord and all that’s he’s created surrounding me. Collecting shells where one never looks like the other. So many promises I am reminded of from the Lord. I just love it. by @mosartjournal
