We had a truly gripping and inspiring meeting this week at the Exchange Club of Northwest Cincinnati!
We were honored to welcome Michael Berens, former police chief and safety service director of Deer Park. Chief Berens shared incredible, firsthand stories from his distinguished career, taking us behind the scenes of how he navigated high-stakes, life-threatening situations and high-pressure negotiations.
His insights into leadership, calmness under fire, and community safety resonated deeply with everyone in the room. Our members thoroughly enjoyed his presentation and the powerful lessons he shared.

OK, I’m definitely slow this week, but what an interesting presentation we had at Exchange! A huge thanks to Bob Johnson, the first player ever to be drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals! Everyone was captivated by his stories about the early days of the Bengals. He told us what it was like to play against men like Jim Otto, Curley Culp, Walter Johnson and Jerry Sherk. And, what it was like to be coached by the great Paul Brown. “You know why I like coming here? You make people feel special.”
The way the guest said it, and the way she looked at me when she said it, absolutely pierced me. It was a compliment and a charge. It was as if she said “we appreciate what you are doing; keep doing it.” It was a humbling reminder that we have to come in ready every day to make guests feel special. Every food order that is prepared, every drink that is made must be made with love. That is the Just Love way.

Coffee. Conversation. Community. This is what our coffee shop is all about. And moments like today make it all worth it. My son, passionate about education and executive director of a local non-profit, reunites with his first grade teacher. I believe it is a blessing for not only the teacher to see the student blossom, but for the student to appreciate what the teacher has poured into the student. by @mosbyknowsme

IS AI INFLUENCING OUR THOUGHTS AND RESPONSES?
I was wondering why I saw so much discussion about the Stand Your Ground case in Florida, when it was clear no charges would be filed. Then I saw this post. Notice what is highlighted. I didn’t respond, but I did begin to think, how many posts do I react to that are generated by AI? How much of our conversation is influenced by AI? It is why I find myself responding to less and less these days. by @mosbyknowsme
