POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last month, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Yesterday, he passed away.

For those who knew him, you know how much of a fighter he was. And he fought until the very end. For those who didn’t, you knew him through who I am. My dad spent his entire life fighting to make sure the people around him felt loved, safe, valued, and seen. I am so privileged to have had him as my father for 24 years. I will honor him every day by living the life he’s always wanted for me. That being the life I’ve always wanted for myself.

Papi, thank you for always believing in me. From my lowest points of anger and drug addiction to my proudest moments standing on stage taking my bows, you were always so proud to call me your son.

Growing up watching you and Mami, you showed me what true love looks like. Thank you for teaching me how to love, to stay humble, to work hard, to stay strong, and to face this world without fear. I’m going to spend the rest of my life making you even prouder. Your life and your love will live on through me and through every single heart you touched.

I love you so much. I’m going to miss everything about you. Especially that damn laugh. Thank God we have the same one.

Rest in peace, Papi 🤍 by @mosesekel
