New podcast episode! As part of the Creative Chats live podcast event series, I sat down at the Mosesian Center for the Arts @mosesianarts for a conversation with artist and gallery owner Ellen Wineberg @winebergellen .
We discuss curation from many angles: choosing the artwork for shows, solving the puzzle of hanging the art in a way that the pieces are in conversation with each other, matchmaking pairings and groupings of artists, and learning to bring out the character in her unique space. We also get a glimpse into the community she's created with Storefront Art Projects @storefront_art_projects and hear about her broader perspective on curation beyond the gallery walls.

Actors’ Shakespeare Project is kicking off its 23rd season with a spooky and comedic take on a literary classic at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown.

Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors runs from Oct. 9 through Nov. 1, offering a humorous reimagining of Bram Stoker’s famous vampire story just in time for Halloween.

The production stars Elliot Norton Award-winning actor Paul Melendy as Count Dracula, portrayed as a self-obsessed, fitness-loving vampire. The fast-paced comedy follows Jonathan Harker as he encounters familiar characters including Van Helsing, Renfield and Lucy.

Directed by Actors’ Shakespeare Project Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards, the production features a five-person cast and combines elements of classic horror with over-the-top comedy.

The show also marks Melendy’s return to the company after nearly two decades.

Performances take place Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m., with an additional matinee Oct. 22.

The Mosesian Center for the Arts is located at 321 Arsenal St. For tickets and additional information, visit ActorsShakespeareProject.org.
