POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I know @honeydipbar had their one year anniversary party back in June, but for me today it’s only been a year since my first appearance !
When I first showed up I wasn’t sure what I would be walking into, who would show up or who would be the ones running the whole thing. I just wanted to see my friend (beloved drag artist @belleofthebottoms ) perform on the night in question.
It was immediately super cool (and very “wow london is a small ass city” moment) to find out 1. Bar manager was my favourite former junction worker (shoutout Willis!!) and 2. Owner was that artist i’d admired the work of immensely for years now. It’s even crazier that now I just call them my friends 🥲
I say this to people all the time, but it’s been so surreal watching myself go from observing and admiring people in this scene from the sidelines quietly to joking that the building (up&down stairs) is my second home due to the amount of time I have spent in the building now.
And i think anyone who’s ever talked to me or look at my stories knows i love this place. So so much. Being a trans/autistic dude who always grew up observing from the outside, this place and the people working all throughout it have honestly for the first time given me a spot where i can feel full of love and joy among a larger group of people.
I also want to give a huge thanks for the wonderful opportunities my time here has granted me :). I always love doing the doors (got me known as “door guy” enough to get even more assorted door gigs outside of the dip) and wheatpasting my honey dip propaganda all around downtown. And i love thaf my frequent time spent here and chatting with the regulars landed me a job where i got to work with my friends and make donuts (and I’m impatiently and excitedly awaiting my return lmfao).
I hope you guys who are my friends who work and run this place know how much this space means not only just to me, but to so so many artists, punks, queers, & random misfits in the city. You will always be so famous and loved esp by me !!

Also! As i write this, their sound system fundraiser is at 66%! Yay!! Go show some via love a dono of any size if you feel the same i do about this place !! taken in Honey Dip by @mossygan

Hell yeah for autism acceptance/awareness month, y’all are about to be VERY aware. 💛♾️
I don’t have too much to say other than I discovered I was autistic almost 6 years ago now and it’s been incredibly life changing for me. I can better understand my own unique strengths and weaknesses and how to tackle them, and I love becoming the most ‘me’ I’ve ever felt.
(If i get one more sheldon comparison i will stare so hard at you, im obviously abed coded instead get it right if ur gonna stereotype me) by @mossygan
