This weekend was full of cool things. Got to see Rottrevore for their first show in Detroit. When my buddy had mentioned this one to me back in August, I knew I had to hit it up. I love these types of shows becuase I get the chance to chat with and meet the artists you are there to see. I also got lot's of compliments on my Dreaming with the Dead long sleeve, I felt a little less alone, there's death metal fan, and then there's insane deathmetal nerd fan and if you were there, you probably were one like me.

Last night we also had a memorial show for a friend who passed tragically a few months ago. It was a great show, got to finally check out the "Confessional" room at the new Sanctuary and christen the selfie mirror. Ended up, even for a very short time seeing a very good friend that I didn't expect to see for a few months, which was great. Then, to top it all off, I got to surprise geek out over my love and for Erik Rutan with the Reccoruptor boys, which always will make my day. This summer has been such a full one and I am so glad to have seen my friends so often.

It's kinda crazy how happy this DIY wide headband/ bandana made me. It's an up-cycle of the sleeves I cut off my Inveracity shirt.

Yes, I know I committed sacrilege and cut the sleeves off a long-sleeve, but Fat Tub of Lard didn't have the uncensored Circle of Perversion shirts in a short sleeve or even in my actual size at the time. So, I made due and honestly, I love that shirt so much and I get so many compliments when I'm out with it, even from Diego Sanchez of Disgorge. It makes me so happy to walk around with Inveracity's logo on my forehead, you have no idea. I have been doing a lot of customizations with my clothes as of recently and I really love encouraging others to do so too.

Last night, we had one last show at the old Sanctuary location. We really brought the house down and sent it off right. There was a lot of love there last night from the people who showed up. I can't imagine how many shows I've been to here, how many friends I've made, how much sweat I've lost at this place.

Over the past few months since we heard about the new location and this one selling, we kept musing which show would be the last and yeah, we had to to make it out to see the final send off of this one. It was very bittersweet hearing local acts over these months saying "this is our last show on THIS stage". To be honest, I'm pretty bummed out today that I won't be going back again, that location holds so many memories. We've already been to the new location and it's also great, so let's all make the best we can of it.

Remember, you are the Master of your own reality. I just got this cap this week and when trying it on, found the embroidery to be a wee bit itchy. I resolved to cover up the threads so my forehead wouldnt suffer.

Keep those sleeves you cut off, they might come in handy some day. This one came recently off my new To Violently Vomit shirt from last month. 🥰 DIY and customize everything to your preference, make it your own.

Can you guess which band is on the front?

In honor of the Supreme leader, the King of all Kings, the Master Himself's Birthday, I did an emergency project today on one of the custom tribute patches I had commissioned. I got this idea from a video I had reposted a few months back where the creator was doing fancy stitches to sew on patches and I thought to do something special to include all of Erik's bands.

Erik Rutan holds such a big place in my heart, I had just known him for a while as " the dude who replaced Pat in Cannibal Corpse". I went on my OSDM pipe line this winter, found and fell in love with Ripping Corpse, realized Erik was a member, got devastated when I found out they broke up with such little material. Then I followed him to Morbid Angel and then Hate Eternal as a chance to hear more of that sound. Man, I was not ready for what I was getting myself in for.

Everything Erik touches is great, he brings technicality, brutality, power. Not only is he a great musician and a powerful vocalist, he is such a great producer. I love thay he is never scared to speak his mind when it comes to the music and put in the hard work to make everything he produces excellent. I hope to one day see Hate Eternal, and meet Erik. I have so many questions. 😅

I want to give a big thank you to @corpse.gristle for the amazing products they have on offer. I was put on to them through Frozen Soul's new release of No Place of Warmth, an absolutely crushing album go out and buy it now. I have recently gotten into buying more physical media a lot more, and for good reason, JUST LOOK AT EM.
They were even kind enough to throw in an extra cassette and sticker. I'll have to check out Gutrycide on my own time. I was surprised at the huge catalog they have with a lot of artists I love in there. Beautiful artwork too, the Dehumanized cassette was advertised as simply brown and I got the printed one. I got a pleasant surprise with that. The prices and shipping were really reasonable inside the US, too, I had to hold back with the life events I have coming up, but I will be back.

KEEP SUPPORTING GREAT MUSIC!!!

One day I was on the prowl for some new death metal. I was scrounging around old 90's interviews and photos of my favorite death metal gods and noticed Doug Cerrito of Suffocation wearing a shirt to a band I didn't recognize in the band photo of Effigy of the Forgotton.

On my way home from work one day, I got bored with what I had before me and by the grace of A god, I couldn't spell Cordyceps Corpse, got frustrated, and typed in Ripping Corpse into my browser. INSTANT LOVE. It's hard to put into words how much I love this doomed little Death Thrash band.

They were exactly the sound I was looking for a lots of speed, aggression, breakdowns and heaviness. They still had lots of flair coming off the 80s, and I love the otherworldly imagery as well as social commentary. This being the Supreme master's, Erik Rutan, first band only makes it even more dear to me, seeing him as a teenager pre-Morbid Days touring with Ripping Corpse just makes me so happy to see.

Ripping Corpse had released a few Ep's themselves and were hoping to sign on a decent record label. Earache had them as a prime candidate, had a representative drive up to New Jersey to check out the band. Upon meeting the band and watching a band practice session, while they did like what they heard, they didnt like the look of Vocalist Scott Ruth. He didnt have the typical long hair of most death metalers and they thought he looked "too hardcore" for the record label. The band later signed on with Kraze records for 1 ep and 5 records. They released the Ep Intustry and the Album Dreaming With the Dead. Kraze later went under and the band lost rights to their own music, Erik Rutan, from what I understand is still fighting for those rights.

I knew I had to have one of everything before all the merch was gone forever. The vinyl, I had lost hope on getting, but got lucky and found a reasonable seller from the Netherlands. You can only imagine my screech of fear, confusion and dismay when I opened my long awaited package and had "Thy Cleveland Come" staring back at me. Luckily, my record came safe and sound. New vest in the planning stages.

I honestly love the BDM community so much. I fall for an April Fools post two weeks late, tell bro to eat my ass and he's just like "Anger valid, Goregasm is peak".

I have been absolutely bouncing off the walls gaga for this band since "Deadfuck" came onto my Playlist one day on the way to work. I will probably need to travel to the windy city to see these sick fucks since they really seem to like to keep to mainly festival events.

Goregasm, you're amazing, I'm excited for the new stuff. Keep it filthy.

I am so damn sick of barking mouths on the internet scaring people away from our scene for either being a beginner or not being knowledgeable from day one. It's so easy to hide behind a screen and tell someone their hard work is shit instead of coming up with ideas on how to improve.

It's not like we have got along for decades on DIY or anything like that and every little thing has been perfect from day one. I hope as someone who is no longer a youngling in the scene, younger kids feel they can come up to me and ask for advice.

As someone who actually goes out to concerts and leaves moms basement. I had thought the vest was super cool. I went to leave a positive comment for the poster, only to open up the comment section to people telling them that their hard work sucked. Goes to show any moron with an internet connection can jump online and spread their crappy opinions. I didnt see much more from the poster. Hope they kept going, the whole point is we're all supposed to look individualistic.

Coming in early last night to see Syphoned was the move. Boyos have been cooking since we were last able to come out and see their set. Highlight of the night was having Ezra of Allegaeon come busting in while were hanging out outside between sets and chat with us for a while. That's something I really love about our small community, we get to meet and know our Rockstars. Speaking of Rockstars, Cryptosis of The Netherlands really blew us away with their proformance. Those guys are really just having so much fun with their music, as we are spinning their records at present. There were A LOT of cool patches out last night, Allegaeon had a REALLY primo all embroidered back patch, I found some that work for both of the projects I have cooking.
