IYKYK: There are some things you can’t leave the house with. And it varies from person to person, especially when you're neurodivergent like us.

Here’s what we keep in our bags to stim, keep regulated, and anticipate our sensory needs every time we leave the house.

"I’ve begun to reject the norms of morning productivity and accept my circadian rhythm for what it is. My brain is designed to work differently. Instead of diving headfirst into a 5 AM wake-up call, I’ve started to find my own morning system," Naveesha Ghedia writes.

Consider this your reminder that you don't have to try to fit anyone else's routines. Find what works for you.

With the energy of back-to-school, Virgo season, and the anticipation of cozy season, September is the perfect time to lean into a refresh, where we can let hope and optimism in as we reset some of our systems that have outlived their use.

We’re doing this by reorganizing our spaces, leaning into routines, and finding ways to design our lives that feel good, and that work for us, not against us.

What are you doing to reset this month? Share in the comments! by @motley.bloom

One way that we’re designing our lives for our neurodivergent minds is designing our meal planning, prepping, and cooking to work for us, not against us. And sometimes, that means outsourcing some of the mental load elsewhere.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to outsource dinner so we don’t have to worry about it. See the full list at the link in our bio. by @motley.bloom

Our managing editor Brianna shares her picks for the salty, sweet, and tangy snacks she's stimming to this summer.

🌸 Salty: Cheddies Classic Cheddar Crackers are so good! The only way I can describe them is that they're like Cheez-Its but better — and better for you.

🌸 Tangy: Olipop Blackberry Vanilla soda is sweet and tangy, and wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer afternoon!

🌸Sweet: The summer sweet I keep stocked in the freezer are these mini popsicles from Jonny Pops. They're so creamy and a perfect little bite for a midday treat.

f you eat three meals a day, you are responsible for coming up with 1,095 meals a year. And if you have a partner and/or kids, that number only multiplies. Even if you just think about dinner, that’s 365 meals per person per year (366 on a leap year!).

Here are a few of our favorite neurodivergent mealtime tips for making it a bit easier to manage. See the full list at the link in our bio! by @motley.bloom

When you’re neurodivergent like us, what seems like a simple text feels like much more than that.

"I’m not ignoring your text," Isabel Ravenna writes. "I’m just going through the five stages of text avoidance."

If you're neurodivergent like us, then ghosting isn’t a rare occurrence, but something we do on the regular.

We call it ghost mode. 👻

And it's a natural part of our rhythm as neurodivergent people. Sometimes we just need to retreat into ghost mode and fall a bit off the grid. It happens!

But we also want to maintain our meaningful connections. We really do care about our friends, family, networks, and community.

So when we come out of ghost mode and need to reconnect, how can we dive back in?

Whether you're going back to school yourself, have kids who are going back, or maybe are just feeling the back to school spirit, take this time to lean into the things that make you feel grounded and energized.

Maybe it's buying a new planner, starting a new routine, or even just taking some time to engage in learning something new about a special interest.
