Armando Ortega and his wife Anita are legacy-driven leaders rooted in faith, family, community, and a deep conviction that the future of housing must serve the whole human being.

Through ZenDev Homes, they are helping shape a new standard for residential living: zero energy, net zero, high-performance homes designed around health, wellbeing, sustainability, and long-term value. Their vision moves beyond the old conversation of price per square foot and elevates the greater question of value per square foot, measuring a home not only by what it costs, but by what it gives back to the families who live in it.

ZenDev Homes represents more than construction. It represents a lifestyle of responsibility, intelligent design, and human-centered innovation. Each community is envisioned as a place where families can feel secure, breathe cleaner air, reduce energy dependence, and reconnect with the natural world around them.

A vital part of this vision is the integration of ZenDev Edible Gardens, designed to promote mental health, family connection, food awareness, and harmony with nature. These gardens create spaces where neighbors, children, and families can grow together by growing their own food, learning from the land, and rediscovering the peace that comes from living with intention.

Armando and Anita also lead Sustainability Ambassadors Collective International, a platform committed to expanding sustainability education, community empowerment, and global collaboration across industries. Their mission is to assemble people, ideas, and partnerships that create meaningful change today while building a legacy for tomorrow.

At the heart of this movement is a simple belief: the homes we build should protect life, strengthen families, honor the earth, and serve future generations.

Imagine having a deck this nice right behind your house! How would you spend your weekends out here? #ZeroEnergy #HomeRenovation #OutdoorLiving https://www.zendevhomebuilders.com/ by @motorolacall

Twenty years in ministry taught us that lasting community begins with showing up for people.

These pictures capture a few moments. Behind them is a growing circle of neighbors, families, volunteers, gardeners, educators, students, and collaborators who have become part of Zen Edible Gardens.

Some have planted. Others have shared knowledge, brought their children, contributed resources, or introduced someone new. Each has helped this garden become a place of connection, discovery, and belonging.

To everyone who has been part of this journey: you helped grow what we’re celebrating today. 🌱

Now, we’re looking toward our 2027 harvest and inviting you to help shape it.

Imagine enjoying food you helped grow, friendships you helped nurture, and a place your family feels connected to. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or planting your first seed, there’s a meaningful way to contribute.

Comment “HARVEST 2027” and tell us what you’d love to bring: your time, skills, ideas, or resources. Follow our journey and invite someone you’d love to share it with.

Our next harvest begins with the people who come together today.
