I’m incredibly happy to share that I’ve been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Arab World Fashion Prize in the Emerging Talent category, presented by the Institut du monde arabe in Paris.

It means a lot to have Moulham Obid and my work recognized within a prize celebrating designers from the Arab world.

Inspired by Gustav Klimt’s ornamental universe, this editorial treats detail as emotion and surface as meaning. Gold, texture, and silhouette become a language, allowing Vienna’s ball tradition to unfold through contemporary fashion imagery.

Photographed by @ab_fotografieren, an Arab artist who has made Vienna home, the series reflects a practice rooted in fine art and couture. Known for avant-garde concepts that merge painting and fashion, his work transforms cultural memory into visual form, where elegance is felt before it is seen.

Gossamer tulle, layered in seemingly weightless strata, is combined with flowing silks and meticulously crafted embroidery. Moulham Obid’s modern-romantic couture emerges through hundreds of hours of detail-intensive handwork.
Born in Syria and based in Vienna since 2014, the designer studied art in Aleppo and completed his fashion design training at Herbststraße. A remarkable talent whose craftsmanship has already been recognized multiple times with awards and scholarships.
