Aurora alert !

Quick and dirty one from this morning. The pink was naked-eye visible from Switzerland, despite the moon.

It might be even better tonight (12th November) as soon as it gets dark enough.

Go out, bring warm clothes, look north and enjoy !
As usual, go as far as possible from light pollution.

Backlit shots are still my favorite ones! This one was taken on the first snow dump in November 2018 close to where i live at the tiniest cityslope. You don’t always have to have the biggest mountains to get good photos! Former pro snowboarder @antonbilare with a steezy fs one over a picnic table.

Astronomy can also be done during the day !

The sky can be enjoyed from anywhere, at any time. But sometimes, you might want to be at the right spot, at the right time.

I wanted to capture the moon rising behind the Mont Blanc from quite some time. Yesterday was the right moment.

Using @planitphoto I noticed the moon would be perfectly aligned with the highest mountain in the Alps from a spot only 6min away from the Geneva observatory.

I went there while my code was running, and enjoyed the private show.
